Here’s another character idea for you guys, and the anime is making a comeback too!

Lenalee’s anti-Akuma weapon, known as the Dark Boots, enable her to run at high speeds, jump great heights, walk on water, create whirlwinds, and use sound wares as footholds. At one point, Lenalee had an encounter with a Level 3 Akuma, which forced her to evoke more power than she could handle. With her life in danger, her Innocence became a crystal, protecting Lenalee from harm. This behavior was previously unheard of in Innocence.

Trinity Blood: Augusta Vradica / Seth Nightroad 04

In the manga, Seth Nightroad was first introduced as a tea seller in Andolu, a small area where Terrans reside in the New Human Empire. She convinces Ion to buy tea from her and later helps them locate Mimir’s medicine shop. She later introduces herself to Ion and Esther, and Ion comments how her name sounds like a boy’s name, wondering is her parents were hoping for a boy. Seth shrugs, saying she already has two older brothers, secretly pertaining to Cain and Abel.

At the end of the Night Lords Arc, Ion is horrified at the revelation that the tea seller he addressed as “girl” was actually the Empress, Augusta Vradica.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de – Maihitoyo: Motomiya Akane and Ono Suefumi and Suefumi’s Ghost

Akane first met Suefumi on a rainy day, as Suefumi tacitly offered her his coat to keep herself from getting wet. When they met a second time, Suefumi confesses that he has no recollection of his past or his name, but somehow feels content by being with her. As Akane sets out to find out who Suefumi is, she unravels a famous cursed dance rumored to kill anyone who attempts to perform it.

I loved this story of Suefumi in Volume 14 of the manga! Although awkward, Suefumi was proud and fearless! It’s too bad he wasn’t part of Hachiyou Shou.

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de - Hachiyou Shou: Abe no Yasuaki 02

It was later revealed in the series that Abe no Yauaki is actually an artificial human created by the famous sorcerer, Abe no Seimei, by combining his “yin” to his wife’s “yang”. As such, there was something lacking in Yasuaki, and Seimei placed a charm on his face to compensate for this. Because he lacks emotions of his own, he is highly sensitive to the Priestess Akane’s thoughts and emotional state. On one occasion, Yasuaki shed tears with a blank face when Akane became very upset.

Japanese cosplayer Ichiha (イチハ) makes a lovely Yasuaki, don’t you you think? I managed to find most of the books from this series, I’m just lacking the earlier volumes now! But I really love the artwork on the manga. Maybe I should pick up the anime too.

Sailor Moon R: Prince Demand

Prince Demand is the leader of Planet Nemesis, a fictional 10th planet of the Solar System. The planet itself is said to consist of negative energy and has the ability to vanish from sight, only traceable by X-ray. The people who reside there are known as the Black Moon Clan, descendents of criminals and traitors of Crystal Tokyo. Prince Demand himself resented Crystal Tokyo as he felt that they were corrupt, and that their long lifespans were blasphemous. Through Wiseman’s help and influence, Prince Demand formed a plan to go back in time before the influence of the Moon Kingdom began in order to create a new history, and perhaps a better future for his people.

In the beginning of the series, Ion Fortuna was a selfish Methuselah who loathed the human race. However, after he was betrayed by his foster brother, Radu Barvon, for the Rosenkreuz Orden, Ion finds comfort in his friendship with Esther Blanchett. His attitude towards humans changes considerably, and when the Puppet Master forced him into a bloodthirsty rage, Ion attempted to commit suicide in order to stop himself from killing Esther.

Tokyo Ghoul: Suzuya Juuzou

Previously known as Suzuya Rei, Suzuya Juuzou is a Special Class Ghoul Investigator who feels no pain nor fear. His lack of emotional understanding and fearlessness allows him confront any opponent head on, no matter how dangerous they are. However, this results in reckless behavior, as he even confronted Yoshimura alone when cooperation was necessary in taking him out.

Tokyo Ghoul: Fueguchi Hinami

A shy, childish girl with a very gentle heart, Fuegushi Hinami’s parents were killed by Ghoul Investigators, yet has no intention of avenging their deaths despite loving them so much. She developed a pseudo-sibling relationship with both Kaneki and Toka, and constantly worries about their unhappiness. As the series progressed, Hinami slowly got over her parents’ deaths and later became a very cheerful character.

Rurouni Kenshin: Himura Kenshin 06

When Shishio Makoto began a movement seeking to overthrow the Meiji Government, Kenshin was forced to resume his training and mend his relationship with his teacher, Hiko Seijurou. After a heated exchange of words, Seijurou agrees, and taught Kenshin the final two techniques, Kuzu-ryusen (Nine-headed Dragon Strike) and Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki (Heavens Gliding Dragon Flash). His training also developed a desire to survive, so that Kaoru would not be shocked by his death.

I didn’t know Kenshin’s birthday was on June 20! And I’ve loved this character forever! Maybe I will start re-reading all of the books again. Thanks to Cosplayers Archive for sharing this!

Tokyo Ghoul: Kaneki Ken 02

A 19-year-old university freshman, Kaneki Ken received an organ transplant from Kamishiro Rize, who was ironically trying to kill him before she was struck by a falling i-beam and seemingly killed. After the operation, Kaneki began developing ghoul-like tendencies and his rationality began to wane. As both human and ghoul, he often fights with his ghoul side in order to keep his ghoul identity a secret and continue to live as a normal human being.

I’ve been getting a lot of Tokyo Ghoul emails lately. This show must be pretty famous! I’d better start watching more recent anime just to keep myself in the loop!

Tokyo Ghoul: Kirishima Ayato

An arrogant teenager in his own right, Kirishima Ayato is the younger brother of Kirishima Touka, who goes by the alias “Black Rabbit”. He and his sister share many similarities, including their short tempers and their tendencies to use foul language which could often be considered as inappropriate. Ayato firmly believes in the notion that “the weak perish and the strong survive”, a survival instinct triggered by the death of his parents.

Yami no Matsuei: Tatsumi Seiichiro and Asato Tsuzuki

In the 5th volume of the Yami no Matsuei manga, it was revealed that Tatsumi was Tsuzuki’s third partner, but their partnership only lasted three months until Tatsumi quit. Tsuzuki’s emotional breakdowns reminded Tasumi too much of his mother, and he still blamed himself over her death. Although their relationship was partially resolved in volume 5, Tatsumi remains uncertain and overprotective of Tsuzuki, as he felt guilty over the end of their partnership.

If I remember correctly, Tsuzuki often asks Tatsumi to make him snacks, and even though Tatsumi complains about it, he makes them anyway! Doesn’t Kuromitsu (黒蜜) make a lovely Tsuzuki? I don’t know who Tatsumi’s cosplayer is, but s/he is equally lovely as well! Thanks to Claro for sending this in!
