Shakugan no Shana: Shana 07

Despite being the title character of the series, Shana has little interactions with many of the other characters. She takes orders and advice from her Crimson Lord, Alastor, and has a mentor and guardian named Wilhelmina Carmel. Shana generally treats most other characters with indifference, except for Yuji’s mother, Sakai Chigusa, whom she looks to as a source in answering certain difficulties when Alastor or Wilhelmina are unable to do so.

Didn’t I say I would be at the Oh No! Manga Cosplay Camp last July? Well, this is one of the first photos I took from the event! I didn’t realize cosplay photography would be so difficult, what with the crowded venue and several other photographers wanting to get a chance at that perfect shot!

This didn’t turn out as well as I’d hope, but I’m using a new camera, so it will take some time to get used to. If you happen to know who she is, feel free to comment so I can credit her properly!

Shakugan no Shana: Shana 06

In the first volume of the original light novel, Alastor stated that the reason why Shana did not explode after being shot by Friagne's Trigger Happy was because she held a capacity that existed in dimensional space, who was able to contain the Flame of Heaven's. Shana’s duty initially made her indifferent towards human life, but because of Sakai Yuji's influence, she has become slightly more open. Although she still remains confused and disgruntled by some human traits which she considers to be “pointless”, some of it is actually used to mask her jealousy of her desire to monopolize Yuji.

Shakugan no Shana: Shana 05

A talented and powerful Flame Haze, Shana is known and feared by most Tomogaya by title alone. She has many abilities including her proficiency with Nietono no Shana, the ability to wield flame, manipulation of the power of existence, harboring extrasensory traits, and fly with wings made of flames. Her nodachi, Nietono no Shana, means “Vairocana of the Offering Room”.

Shakugan no Shana: Yoshida Kazumi

A pure and kind girl who finds out about Torches and Flame Hazes, Kazumi has a crush on Sakai Yuji but is too shy to tell him directly. When Shana becomes her love-rival however, she vows to tell Yuji her feelings and let him decide between her and Shana.

Shakugan no Shana: Shana 04

As a devoted Flame Haze, Shana is torn between her mission to protect the balance and her love for Sakai Yuji, a Torch who has a rare status of Mystes. At the ending of the first season of the anime series, Shana made a difficult decision which led Yuji to distance himself from her. However, Yuji comes to realize that he was wrong and that they both really do care for one another, restoring their relationship.

Shakugan no Shana: Shana 03

The "flame-haired, fiery-eyed hunter" or Flame Haze, Shana was once solely concentrated on her duty to hunt the Denizens of the Crimson Realm and the Rinne they send to do their bidding. When she meets Sakai Yuji, a Torch created as a temporary replacement for the erased humans, he decides to give her the name Shana in his need to humanize her. She adores Melon Bread and tends to say "Urusai! Urusai! Urusai!" whenever Yuji asks her questions or makes remarks that disturb her original point of view.

Shakugan no Shana: Shana

It seems that Kipi is more popular than I had imagined… She has a fan base that is probably one of the biggest I have ever seen! And she’s cosplayed (I estimate) about 20 or so characters already.

This is one of my personal favorites… Shakugan no Shana, a girl who kills by fire. This anime is pretty popular, and it’s already on its 2nd season.

I’m craving for Melon Pan now… I need to finish watching the first season quickly…
