Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru 07

Although the Tenseiga managed to return Sesshoumaru and Rin back to the world of the living, it could no longer bring Rin back to life as the Tenseiga had already done so when Sesshoumaru first met Rin. As a result, Sesshoumaru had no desire of owning his new Tenseiga as it came about at the cost of Rin’s life. His mother, known to be very cold and heartless, saw Sesshoumaru’s anguish and said, “don’t expect me to do this a second time”, and brought Rin’s life from Meido back into the world of the living. She concluded by saying, “all this fuss over a little human girl.. you inherited the most unusual traits from your father.”

I would have wanted to see this episode! It’s too bad I missed it when the show was still airing on cable. Thanks to Tasha for sharing this!

Although Kikyo was reincarnated as Higurashi Kagome some five hundred years after her death, an evil sorceress named Urasue tried to pull Kagome’s soul into a clay body made from the soil in Kikyo’s grave as well as her bones and ashes. A small part of Kagome’s soul detached from her and reanimated Kikyo’s new body, but Kagome herself seems to have suffered no permanent harm. As the new Kikyo retained memories of her hast life, her feelings for Inuyasha still remain true causing a strain in Kagome and Inuyasha’s relationship.

Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru 06

When Kohaku and Rin were taken to the underworld by a hellhound, Sesshomaru pursued them but Rin unfortunately stopped breathing during her captivity. Furious, Sesshomaru killed the Underworld Master in an attempt to save her, but was still unable to revive her. Realizing the pain of losing someone important, Tenseiga reacted to his compassion and purified the underworld, bringing them back to the world of the living.

This is Stein, a male cosplayer from the Philippines who makes a wonderful Sesshoumaru. I’m actually glad a guy cosplayed him this time, because he is also one of my most favorite characters. Inuyasha: Naraku

The series’ main antagonist, Naraku is responsible for most of the characters’ misfortunes including Kikyo’s death. Naraku was born from the fusion of Onigumo, a crippled bandit tended by Kikyo, and a horde of weak demons. Driven by his lust for the priestess, Onigumo made a bargain with the demons: in exchange for eating his flesh, the demons would conbine into one entity to become part of his new body.

Suicun OSDH makes a handsome Naraku. I love the details on her kimono and the setting is perfect as well. Thanks to one of my readers (who didn’t leave their name) for emailing this!

Inuyasha: Inuyasha 04

Born to a dog demon father and a human mother, Inuyasha is a half-demon who once wished to become a full demon by the using the Shikon Jewel. After meeting Kikyo, the miko who guards the jewel, Inuyasha fell in love and changed his mind, wishing to become human instead so that he could live by her side. Naraku unfortunately manipulates them into believing that they betrayed one another, causing the death of Kikyo and leaving Inuyasha in suspended animation for 50 years.

So very cute! I guess this is what Inuyasha looked like when he was still a child. Thanks to Gundamer, the photographer for his awesome work, and Jenna for sending this in!

Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru... 5.5?

I know what you’re thinking, and no, I’m not kidding.

You have to admit, this is a pretty accurate cosplay of Sesshoumaru. Maybe he looks a bit friendlier than the real Sesshoumaru, but hey, he had to be trained somehow.

Inuyasha: Rin and Sesshoumaru 02

If you guys remember my entry back in April, I mentioned how Sesshoumaru found Rin's corpse after she was attacked by Koga's wolves. This would be the reinactment of that very scene, and Sesshoumaru is about to test his sword to bring Rin back to life.

The cosplayers picked a very good location for the reinactment. The original picter was croped though, and you can view the full size here.

Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru 04

The older half-brother of Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru could not understand why his father left the powerful Tetsusaiga to Inuyasha while he, the pure blooded youkai, only had the Tenseiga, a sword that brings the dead back to life. As a result, he despises his brother and wishes to take the Tetsusaiga from him.

As the series progresses, Sesshoumaru changes and slowly becomes compassionate towards the young human girl, Rin. When Naraku dared to kidnap Rin in order to manipulate Sesshoumaru, he vowed to destroy Naraku at any cost... even if it meant having to work with Inuyasha and his companions.

Beautiful, cinematic cosplay! It makes me want to re-watch the entire series... and find that OVA about the girl who loved Sesshoumaru. Has anyone seen it

Inuyasha: Sesshoumaru and Rin

Lord of the Western Lands and rightful owner of the Tenseiga, Sesshoumaru came upon an orphaned girl named Rin after he was heavily injured by his half-brother Inuyasha. At first, Sesshoumaru shows little interest in Rin, despite her bringing him fish she stole from the outskirts of a small village she lived in and getting beaten for it.

When Koga attacks Rin’s village, she is unfortunately killed by his wolves. Sesshoumaru recognizes her scent and follows it to find her corpse. Remembering her kindness, Sesshoumaru decides to test the power of his Tenseiga and brings Rin back to life. Since then, Rin has followed Sesshoumaru wherever he went, not saying much, but always smiling for him.

Cute cosplay. Though this shows a much older Rin near the end of the series. I think she really played a part in making Sesshoumaru more compassionate. Great work!

Inuyasha: Kikyo 02

When Kikyo was still alive, she was a kind a gentle woman who had great spiritual power. She was very intelligent, but she was also very sad because she longed to be an ordinary girl without duties and powers.

This cosplayer got Kikyo’s hair better than Arisa. Although both girls still have their own appeals. Which one do you like better?

Inuyasha: Inuyasha and Sesshomaru

Half-brothers, each fulfilling his own destiny. Neither of them are right, and neither of them are wrong, for they only fight for what they believe in to be right and true.

I’m just a little sad this photo is so small and that we can’t see their faces too well. But I really like how this photo was taken. I wonder if anyone knows where to get a higher resolution of this? ;) And how do they compare to the other Inuyasha and Sesshomaru I’ve posted before?

Inuyasha: Sesshomaru

Sesshomaru is the older half-brother of Inuyasha. He is a full fledged Inu Yokai (Dog Demon, literal translation), and is usually stoic and hard to read.In the beginning of the series, he is a ruthless enemy of Inuyasha, wanting to take the Tetsusaiga from him, but Sesshomaru soon becomes compassionate towards Jaken, his servant, and Rin, an orphaned human who showed him kindness while he was injured.

This is a really beautiful cosplay of my favorite yokai of the series! He looks so peaceful, sleeping by the tree. No wonder Rin took a liking to him the moment she saw him.

Inuyasha: Kikyo and Inuyasha

This is an image I know I first found from Wikipedia, but now I can’t seem to locate the page as to where it’s located…

Anyway, moving on…

Kikyo is a priestess or “miko” in the anime and manga series “Inuyasha”. She is the keeper of the sacred Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls) who fell in love with the half - human, half - dog demon Inuyasha. The couple had planned on using the Sacred Jewel’s power to turn Inuyasha into a full - fledged human so that they could spent eternity together, but the antagonist, Naraku, tricked them into thinking that they were betrayed by each other, resulting in Kikyo’s death and Inuyasha’s fifty year slumber on the Goshinboku (Sacred Tree).

Kikyo’s Resurrection and the awakening of Inuyasha by Kikyo’s Reincarnate, Kagome, gave them a second chance to clear things up. Unfortunately, Kikyo perishes once more in the hands of Naraku, separating them once more…

Beautiful cosplay this pair! Makes me wonder if the Inuyasha in the background is the same Inuyasha I featured last July… Hm…

Inuyasha: Inuyasha

A rather, redundant title for this one… But the title of this anime is in fact the character’s name after all.

Inuyasha, whose name literally means “dog spirit” is a half demon, half human being, rejected by both races. He embraces his demon side more than his human side, but hates being referred as a “dog” or “puppy”. He has a half brother, Sesshoumaru, in whom he shares the same father.

Great choice of scenery, pose, and costume. You can hardly see how his fake dog ears are attached to his head. Wonderful job on this one! Though I’m not sure if this Inuyasha is a male or female cosplayer…
