Kosaka Kirino is a classic, tsundere character who appears to have an older brother complex. She frequently forces her brother Kyosuke to spend time with her, whether it’s by playing games or accompanying her out, but denies that she actually enjoys spending time with him. Kirino considered Kyosuke to be the perfect older brother, but she was disappointed in his change of personality after the incident with Sakurai Akimi.

I was confused at who this cosplayer was at first, but then I realized that her maid outfit is same with Kuroneko’s. Kirino always has two red pins in her hair, so that pretty much sealed the deal for me! Thanks to Allen for sending this in!

Secretly an otaku herself, Kosaka Kirino likes to force her older brother to play and care for her characters in games only to insist that 2D and 3D worlds should be kept separate, and even accuse him of being a pervert and a lolicon! She has an obsession with “little sister”-themed eroge and children’s anime series such as “Stardust Witch Meruru”. She works as a model after school and later becomes a novelist to fund her hobby.

Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai: Goko Ruri aka Kuroneko 04

In the anime, Ruri began calling Kosaka Kyosuke “Nii-san” because of two reasons: one is her wish to have an older brother and the other is simply to annoy Kosaka Kirino. However, it was also revealed that she was hinting some affection towards Kyosuke, as she later gives him a kiss on the cheek. In the light novels, Kuroneko became Kyosuke’s first lover by the seventh volume, but they broke up in the very next book.

There’s no way Kuroneko is this cute! But she is! Another awesome cosplay from Comiket 81! I really love this maid outfit version of her more than her gothic one. Thanks again to Miki for sending this in!

It is a known fact that Kuroneko wears contact lenses to make her bluish eyes seem red. Her younger sisters, Hinata and Tamaki, as well as her mother worry about Ruri when she's in her otaku mode. She does, however, wear normal clothes when she's at school and takes care of her sisters when she's at home.

Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai: Goko Ruri aka Kuroneko 02

Unlike Kirino who enjoys little sister-themed games and magical girl anime, Kuroneko prefers teen-centered fantasy anime. She claims to have “dark magic” and has revealed this fact to only Kirino and Kyosuke. She is also known to have a large vocabulary, as Kirino commented that she needed a dictionary to translate her novel.

Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai: Goko Ruri aka Kuroneko

Another otaku who lives near Kirino, Ruri’s often wears gothic lolita clothing based on a character from her favorite anime. Her nickname, Kuroneko, comes from her love of wearing cat ears and tail in addition to her cosplays. Although she and Kirino often clash due to their strong personalities, she actually does care very much for Kirino.

A 14-year-old girl with an older brother complex, Kirino is quite mature for her age and has a modeling job to pay for her otaku hobbies. She loves her older brother, Kyosuke and often feels frustrated when he is with, or shows interests, in other girls. She thus forces Kyosuke to spend time with her, but generally denies the fact that she enjoys his company.
