I had just finished watching Hell Girl when I came upon this photo of Jin. It’s almost scary how she can cosplay beautiful heroines as well as handsome guys. I really hope I’ll get to meet her one day. Thanks to troy323 for sharing this!

The overworked yet extremely supportive aunt of the brothers Tadashi and Hiro, Aunt Cass is the owner of a popular San Fransokyo Bakery and Coffee Shop. She is extremely proud of her two genius nephews, and is always ready to give them the love and support they need. She does get a little overwhelmed sometimes, quoting:

“For ten years, I’ve done the best I could to raise you. Have I been perfect? No. Do I know anything about children? No! Should I have picked up a book on parenting?! PROBABLY! Where was I going? I had a point.”

They make a spectacular pair of cosplayers and they never cease to amaze me! I’m a little curious why they decided to go to a convention as characters from two different series though, but I guess we’ll never know! Both Naruto and Bleach are equally popular though, so I don’t think their fans are complaining! Thanks again to Fumiki for sending this in!

Hakuoki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~: Saito Hajime

The leader of the Third Division of the Shinsengumi, Saito Hajime is a master of Iai, a martial arts technique where one strikes and finishes off their opponent in one smooth motion from the starting point of the sword inside its sheath. He is silent and taciturn but is also very loyal, polite, and wise. He is also very analytical, often studying the situation before attacking to calculate which actions are necessary to complete the mission.

I’ve recently purchased a copy of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. I must admit, I never thought I’d feel so depressed just from playing a game. Heavy, accurate, and well-written story lines so far, but I just wish I could stop feeling so down about it. Thanks to Misaki-chan for sharing Jin Joson’s cosplay of my favorite character!

Jin's cosplay of Yagami Light really is one of the best there is. I love the addition of black wings, and she’s right, “Light tends to act more like a god of death than actual shinigami.” Thanks to anon for sharing this!

Death Note: Ryuzaki L. Lawliet, Yagami Light, and Amane Misa

This photo has been labeled as one of the most popular deviations of all time on Deviant Art. It’s easy to see why as the cosplay and the setting is superb, but a lot of people who became jealous of this popularity gave the cosplayers a hard time.

This is one of the reasons why I don’t allow hateful comments on Cosplay Holic. I do let constructive criticism slide in once in a while, but most of the time, I delete them. Cosplayers work hard on their cosplays, and it’s all for fun. It’s not something that should be taken too seriously.

And yes, everyone, please get it straight, Yagami Light’s cosplayer in this shoot, Jin Joson aka *behindinfinity, is a girl.

Bleach: Kurosaki Ichigo 02

Kurosaki Ichigo has natural orange hair that always gets him into fights with bullies. He doesn’t care what other people think about him and doesn’t seem to mind fighting bullies either. He met Chad when they were still young, who was also a target for bullies because he refused to fight for his own sake as promised to his grandfather. Ichigo then decided to make a pact with him that they would fight for each other’s sake.

I couldn’t believe this was one of Jin’s works when I first saw it. She really does know how to take on the character she’s cosplaying, so much that it’s hard to tell it’s her! Great job, Jin!

Bleach: Abarai Renji

The shinigami with an eccentric personality, Abarai Renji is the lieutenant of the 6th Division on Kuchiki Byakuya. He is often compared to Kurosaki Ichigo as they have similar personalities; the willingness to fight for what they believe in. Renji is nicknamed “Aka Pine” of “Red Pineapple” for wearing his hair in a ponytail that looks like pineapple top.

Ok, so Jin isn’t really wearing her hair/wig in the signature ponytail, and the tattoos are done in photoshop, but you have to admit, this is a very impressive cosplay of Renji. Wonderful work, Jin!

Final Fantasy VIII: Rinoa Heartilly 03

So the new year begins, and this is my first cosplay feature for the year. Of course, like many of you out there, I want to start the new year right.

Do you recognize the cosplayer?

This is Jin Joson, the same cosplayer who cosplayed as Lahoo and Ishida Uryuu. This is, in fact, not "Nejin, Jin's twin sister" but Jin herself.

That's because Nejin and Jin are one and the same. As far as I know, the rumor about Nejin and Jin being twins started with her friends, and it spread like wildfire.

To me, I'm just glad that I got the confirmation that I needed to know that Jin is a girl. I don't think the debate with regards to her gender will die any time soon, but what I saw and heard is good enough for me.

Awesome cosplays, Jin, keep it up! Oh, and I may reduce the unknown cosplays to... every other Monday now since I don't have a lot of them anymore. ;) Thanks guys!

Dream of Teenager: Lahoo and Shall

Dream of Doll’s “Dream of Teenager” is a collection of ball jointed dolls. Featured in this photo are two of the most well-known cosplayers in the Philippines, Jin Joson as Lahoo and Alodia Gosiengfiao as Shall.

Ever since I posted Jin’s photo as Ishida Uryuu, there’s been a non-stop debate with regards to Jin’s gender. As for myself, I’ve given up trying to figure it out unless Jin would like to comment and let us all finally know what the truth is.

Either way, this is a really good cosplay of Lahoo and Shall. I never thought people would actually try and cosplay real dolls and succeed so well. Thanks to Tricia Gosingtian and Jin for the wonderful photography!

Bleach: Ishida Uryuu 02

Remember what I said about Filipinoes cosplaying really well?

Well, this is a good opportunity to introduce Jin, a cosplayer that rivals even Philippine Idol Alodia.

Jin is apparently from the Philippines, but the cosplaying is on the same class as the really good Japanese ones most people practically worship. This is a really nice cosplay of Ishida Uryuu from Bleach. I’m not sure if it’s the lighting or the photography, but it looks really good!
