Final Fantasy XIII: Snow Villers

The self-proclaimed “hero” of the series, Snow Villers is a relentless optimist who wished to help everyone in need. Although his heart is in the right place, he tends to talk and act before thinking, unintentionally causing trouble or worse, putting others in danger! Lightning once described Snow as “arrogant and chummy from the get-go, thinks he's everyone's pal,” and that his best quality is being “too stubborn to die.” She also compared Snow to her father, as someone who is easy-going and passionate, but unreliable.

Final Fantasy XII: Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca 02

A fiercely independent and driven young woman, Ashelia B’nargin Dalmasca will stop at nothing to restore her family to its rightful place. Her proud facade can only be broken by memories of Lord Rasler, as she is reminded of the wonderful memories of her youth.

Although Vaan is the game’s protagonist, most of the story focuses on Ashe’s drive to accumulate the power she needs to avenge her kingdom. However, she once turned away from great power when she realized that it would corrupt her ideals.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: Lightning 03

In Final Fantasy XIII-2, it is revealed through the Arbiter of Time that this Lightning is only an exact copy of the actual Lightning that lacks a soul. She can learn all of the elemental spells just like her original counterpart, and has improved tiers in Thunder spells. One other significant difference is that this Lightning can cast Curasa and Curaja as a Medic, while the original Lightning could not.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: Noel Kreiss

A cocky yet soft-spoken individual, Noel Kreiss is a self-sufficient hunter  who suffers from amnesia due to the effects of a time paradox. As he is from a future where humans are almost extinct, Noel has trouble with his speech and can be very straight-forward. He loves to explore new places and meet new people, but he tends to be overprotective, evident with his first meeting with Serah despite hardly knowing her.

Final Fantasy VII: Vincent Valentine 05

In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud and his party discovered Vincent in a locked room in Shinra Manor and is talked out of his sleep. Cloud tells him about Sephiroth, of which he knew that Sephiroth was the child Lucrecia had conceived. Vincent later agrees to accompany the party when Cloud confirms that the party will meet Hojo, as he plans on finally claiming his revenge.

Another beautiful cosplay by Chinese cosplayer Butterfly! I’m completely stumped as to how he managed to get this pose! His photographer must be an extremely talented individual too!

Final Fantasy VIII: Rinoa Heartilly (Amano Yoshitaka Version)

Artist Amano Yoshitaka is known for designing many characters in the Final Fantasy series. His designs are unique as Amano’s art revolves around the medium of printmaking, wherein he carves wood and/or scores copper plates, runs ink, and transfers the ink to paper. In one of Amano’s illustrations entitled “Singing Wings”, he portrays Rinoa Heartilly with blonde hair, a yellow and orange colored attire, and feathered wings in her back.

I certainly wouldn’t mind seeing this version of Rinoa in the games, would you? And this Italian cosplayer, who is appropriately nicknamed Rinoa, makes a stunning cosplay version of Amano’s artwork! It’s been a while since I last added a photo in the Unknown Category… Google has made it a lot easier to identify most cosplays that I’m not familiar with, but it appears it has no information about this particular photo.

I am guessing he’s either from Final Fantasy or Ragnarok, but my searches came up with nothing. It would be a shame not to know more about this character since the details of his armor are pretty amazing.

Final Fantasy VII: Vincent Valentine 04

Vincent Valentine blamed himself for Lucrecia’s illness after Sephiroth’s birth. In order to atone for this “sin”, he locked himself within a coffin in the basement of Shinra Mansion and slept, mostly undisturbed, for 30 years. He constantly relived his nightmare as punishment for being unable to stop Lucrecia from submitting to Hojo’s experiment on her unborn baby.

Another impressive cosplay of Vincent Valentine! It’s a little weird that a 50-60 year-old character looks like this, and I’ve always been curious as to how that might have happened. Well, one thing we can be sure of, sleeping is very good for us! Thanks to luaR for sharing this!

In Final Fantasy XIII-2, Lightning has learned to trust others and ask them for help. She has also become more open in expressing her emotions rather than keeping them bottled up inside her. However, her time in Valhalla and the recognition of her past “sins” have also made her more somber than before.

Doesn’t Rainer Tachibana look amazing as Lightning? I love how she used real feathers for Lightning’s side skirt, and the details on her sword and armor look amazing as well! Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Cloud Strife 08

“I pity you. You just don't get it at all… there’s not a thing I don’t cherish!”

Tormented by the guilt he perceived as his past failings to save those he cares about, Cloud became a much darker and somber character in Advent Children. Worse, he felt even more helpless when he contracted the terminal Geostigma plague, adding to his depression. Cloud began to distance himself from his friends and preferred to live alone, but it is unclear whether of not this changed after he was forced to face his past both metaphorically and literally.

Final Fantasy VII: Aerith Gainsborough 03

When faced with the possibility of being captured by the Turks, Aerith Gainsborough asked Cloud Strife to be her bodyguard for the cost of one date. Aerith was eventually apprehended, but she was later rescued by Cloud and his companions. She then decided to join them in their pursuit of Sephiroth, inadvertently embarking on her own journey towards self-discovery.

She’s just absolutely adorable! And a nice choice of accessories for Aerith’s bangles too! I’m not sure if she used her own hair or a wig, but it must have taken a long time to style it just right. Thanks to Emilia for sending this in!

Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy: The Emperor

Representing Final Fantasy II, The Emperor is one of the most powerful villains fighting on the side of Chaos, outranked only by Garland. He is in agreements with Ultimecia to take control of a war-torn world, unlike most villains who only seek to destroy it.

Although Firion stands in opposition to the Emperor, his main rival is actually Yuna, whom he blames and resents for stealing Tidus from Chaos’s side. Incidentally, he manages to recruit Tidus’ father, Jecht, in his place.

Kadaj is said to be the embodiment of Sephiroth’s cruelty and insanity. Although completely devoted to Jenova, Kadaj is insecure that Jenova would “choose” Sephiroth over him. He has a strange personality and has a tendency of bursting into laughter for no apparent reason.
