Kuroshitsuji II: Claude Faustus and Sebastian Michaelis

After the battle at the Trancy Ball, Claude Faustus became obsessed with obtaining Ciel’s soul to the point of ignoring his master, Alois’ cries for help. He and Sebastian later spoke privately and came to an agreement that neither one of them was truly satisfied with Ciel’s incomplete soul. The two demons then agreed to a bargain in which Ciel will have his second revenge, this time on Alois Trancy.

The second season gave me mixed feelings about the plot, but I have to admit, the new characters were quite interesting. I’m surprised that there are other demons similar to Sebastian, but I think I like Sebastian better than Claude. Thanks to Marinette for sending this in!

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 06

Born on November 5, 1875, Alois is a bipolar child who appears to be happy and carefree, but is actually quite morbid and manipulative. He gouged out his servant Hannah’s left eye simply to see if it will annoy his servants. It was was thought that Alois was kidnapped after birth, thus resulting in his mother’s suicide.

This looks absolutely gorgeous! Although the contributor, Lilica is not too sure if this is Alois or not since he’s not wearing his signature coat. What do you guys think?

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 05

Some time after the death of his brother Luca, Alois (whose real name is Jim McCain) was brought along with other boys to the Trancy estate. However, he was initially rejected by Trancy for his “filthy looking eyes”. Alois later overheard another boy talking about summoning a fairy to have his wish come true. Curious to know if such a tale could be real, Alois performed the ceremony and instead summoned Claude Faustus. They then created the contract in what appeared to be a strange dream ritual.

Kuroshitsuji II: Claude Faustus and Alois Trancy

Just as Alois Trancy is the literary foil of Ciel Phantomhive, Claude Faustus also contrasts Sebastian Michaelis in order to highlight various features of Sebastian’s personality. Claude is more indifferent, hardly ever showing any emotion, and a perfectionist who has complete control over the other household servants. Unlike Sebastian, Claude never seems to attempt to stop Alois from doing anything unjust or inappropriate.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 03

Alois Trancy’s real name is Jim McCain, an abandoned orphan along with his younger brother Luca. Alois was angry at the villagers who mistreated them and thus began wishing for their deaths. Luca believed in him, stating the his brother could do anything he wanted. One fateful night, Alois’ wish came true, at the price of Luca’s life.

Such an awesome and eerie cosplay of Alois. I really love the accessories they added for this shoot. Thanks to Gabriel for sending this!

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy 02

Alois trancy acts as a foil to Ciel Phantomhive; a literary term for a character who contrasts with another character (in this case, Ciel) in order to highlight the various features of the other character’s personality. Ciel actually cares for people and causes while Alois is psychologically scarred, pathologically abusive, and calculative. By appearance, Ciel is seemingly indifferent, while Alois is quite energetic.

Kuroshitsuji II: Alois Trancy

Earl Alois Trancy has a tendency to shift from being a carefree and happy child to a morbid and manipulative individual. Like Ciel Phantomhive, he has formed a contract with a demon known as Claude Faustus. However, that is where their similarities end; as Ciel thinks of Sebastian Michaelis as his Knight/Servant, Alois is completely dependent on Claude.

I did not like the second season of Kuroshitsuji very much, but I do love how this cosplay turned out. Thanks to Flight for suggesting to feature *juunana of Deviant Art!
