Final Fantasy XIII: Snow Villers

The self-proclaimed “hero” of the series, Snow Villers is a relentless optimist who wished to help everyone in need. Although his heart is in the right place, he tends to talk and act before thinking, unintentionally causing trouble or worse, putting others in danger! Lightning once described Snow as “arrogant and chummy from the get-go, thinks he's everyone's pal,” and that his best quality is being “too stubborn to die.” She also compared Snow to her father, as someone who is easy-going and passionate, but unreliable.

Final Fantasy XIII-2: Lightning 03

In Final Fantasy XIII-2, it is revealed through the Arbiter of Time that this Lightning is only an exact copy of the actual Lightning that lacks a soul. She can learn all of the elemental spells just like her original counterpart, and has improved tiers in Thunder spells. One other significant difference is that this Lightning can cast Curasa and Curaja as a Medic, while the original Lightning could not.

Samurai Shodown 3: Hisame Shizumaru

Hisame Shizumaru is a young, amnesiac boy who doesn’t remember his real name and thus chose to take on the name of his sword. He was labeled a “demon child” ever since he was born, so he chooses to live and survive on his own. He travels to find a “demon” in order to figure out for himself what it means to be one.

Initially believed to be modeled after Himura Kenshin of Rurouni Kenshin, the creators have stated that Shizumaru’s visual model was actually Kurama of Yu Yu Hakusho.

Belated Happy New Year everyone! Life is still throwing a couple of curve balls on my way, but I wanted to start the year right with one of my favorite characters! I actually thought he was Kenshin too when I first played Samurai Shodown, but then again, wasn’t Kenshin also modeled after Kurama? At least, that’s what I heard?

Ao no Exorcist: Okumura Rin 03

Unlike his younger twin Yukio, Rin is immature and reckless, which often times leads others into thinking he is the younger one of the two. He is very open with his friends, but when some of them found out about his Demon heritage, they became afraid of him, thinking that he was unstable and therefore dangerous. Rin appears to have a soft spot for animals too, as he fought against Shiratori Reiji and his delinquent gang because they were shooting down pigeons.

I love the effects on this image! I need to learn how to render fire too, since one of my characters is a fire angel. Thanks again to Robins for suggesting this!

Ao no Exorcist: Okumura Yukio 03

Okumura Yukio and his older twin brother Rin, are often seen arguing, but they do care about each other quite a lot. Yukio often berates Rin for his impulsiveness, but the truth is, Yukio is afraid that his brother would be consumed by his demonic powers. In the anime, Yukio eventually becomes a demon himself just like his brother, but in the manga, he attains “Satan’s Eyes”, but it was never explained what this ability entails.

I really do love characters with glasses, don’t you? It makes them look intelligent, and fans of this series all know how smart Yukio is. Thanks to Robins for sending this in!

I am practically clueless when it comes to the makes and models of Gundams, so maybe someone can tell me from which series this cosplayer is portraying as?

I guess Gundam Girls have been pretty popular ever since. This looks like a scanned photo from somewhere, and if you take a closer look on the upper right-hand corner, there’s a little date that reads “12 2 ‘04”, so I’m guessing that this was taken in 2004. But even though the photo is old, it’s still pretty impressive, don’t you think? Thanks to Cali for sending this in!

Gintama: Takasugi Shinsuke 02

The leader of the extremist group Kiheitai, Takasugi Shinsuke is bent on destroying the world, specifically the Bakufu and Sakata Gintoki for personal reasons. He is willing to go to any lengths to achieve his world destruction plans, including conspiring with the Space Pirates Harusame. Shinsuke once fought alongside Gintoki, Katsura, and Tatsuma during the Joui Wars.

Tekken: Nina Williams

Born and raised in Ireland, Nina Williams trained in aikido and koppojutsu even as a young girl. She and her sister, Anna, admired her father, former assassin Richard WIlliams, and competed for his attention and approval. Both sisters blamed each other for the death of their father, and despite trying to work things out, they ended up forming an extreme sense of sibling rivalry.

Nina is my favorite character in Tekken, and this cosplayer really did an amazing job cosplaying her! It looks like she used her real hair too! Thanks again to Diogo for sending this in!

God of War: Kratos

Born and raised in Sparta, Kratos and his brother Deimos, trained at a young age as the dreamed of joining the Spartan army when they grew up. However, the city was attacked by the Olympian gods, Ares and Athena, and their army of centaurs, in their search for the Marked Warrior. Deimos was taken by Ares, and the loss left an indelible mark on Kratos. Kratos vowed never to falter again, and later became a respected member of the Spartan army.

That is some impressive paint job! Not to mention the cosplayer’s well-developed body! Definitely one of the most impressive Kratos I’ve ever seen! Thanks to Diogo for sending this in!

Naruto: Yamanaka Ino

Yamanaka Ino was raised by her father to embody the meaning of the violet flower, which symbolizes a blunt, candid love. In other words, she was raised to treasure the bonds she has with her friends and family.

At the Academy, she became friends with Haruno Sakura, who was being bullied at the time due to the size of her forehead. Ino convinced Sakura that hiding her forehead was pointless and that it only made things worse. She then gave Sakura a red ribbon to draw attention elsewhere.

She looks amazing! And I can’t believe I’ve never featured this character before! I guess it’s because I don’t really followed the franchise, but I am familiar with Ino and Sakura’s past. Thanks to Sai for sending this in!

Trinity Blood: Radu Barvon

The Baron of Luxor and Ion Fortuna's foster brother, Radu was chosen by the Empress to accompany Ion in a mission to negotiate with the Vatican. The visit did not go as planned as a terrorist bomb attack made the Vatican speculate that Ion came to kill Cardinal Caterina Sforza. Father Abel and Sister Esther later met with Ion and realized that Radu was behind the sabotage, as he was given orders by the Rozenkreuz Orden to kill both Ion and Caterina so as to start a war between the Empire and the Vatican.

Sailor Moon: Sailor Mercury

Rumored to have an IQ of three hundred, Mizuno Ami has been given several, specific titles throughout the series including the Soldier of Water and Intelligence, and the Soldier of Wisdom. In Japanese, the planet Mercury is known as Suisei (水星), with “sui” meaning “water” and “sei” indicating a celestial object, thus giving her water-based abilities. As Sailor Mercury, most of her initial powers were strategic rather than offensive, and she has various pieces of computerized equipment to help her in analyzing the enemy.

Remember what I said about cosplayers using their own hair? It’s a personal opinion, but I think cosplayers who use their own hair are quite extraordinary! This Sailor Mercury is definitely one of the best ones I’ve seen! Thanks again to Michelle for sending this in!

Starry Sky: Tomoe Yoh (Capricorn)

Tomoe Yoh, also known as Henri Samuel Jean Aimée, is a half-French, second year student in Seigetsu Academy. He met Yahisa Tsukiko when they were still young, and became quick friends as she was the only person who didn’t make fun of him for being half-French. He fell in love with Tsukiko and later asked his father to transfer him to Seigetsu Academy in order to pursue her.

I’m not Japanese, that’s for sure! But yes, I am a mangaka (Japanese-styled comics’ artist) by trade. Aside from my real names, I’m known as the artist “Kurohiko” here in the Philippines. Naruto: Shippuden: Konan and Pain

Nagato, who is also known as “Pain” was the recognized leader of Akatsuki and Amegakure. He is referred to as “Leader” by all Akatsuki members, with the exception of his partner, Konan. Nagato used his deceased teammate, Yahiko as the Deva Path, which grants the user the ability to manipulate attractive and repulsive forces with objects and people.

Darkstalkers: Lilith Aensland 03

The body Lilith received from Jedah was the image of what Lilith wanted to be - an imitation of Morrigan, but she couldn’t become Morrigan completely. Fans speculated that her childish look possibly comes from her own feelings of not being a perfect existence, like a girl who has yet to become a woman. However, it is said what with the right amount of power and belief, Lilith could even become a man if she wished to become one with Morrigan.

Well there’s an idea… Lilith as a man might be a great start for a new fan fiction. Although if that were to really happen in the game, fans might either be disappointed or very supportive. Thanks to Janice for sending this in!

One Piece: Perona

Confident and strong-willed, Perona is the former “Wild Zombies” and “Surprise Zombies Commander” of Thriller Bark before the collapse of Gekko Moriah’s zombie army. Despite her cute looks, she normally speaks using a very masculine language. Nevertheless, she adores cute things, and will only allow someone to work for her if they are cute.

This feature is so pink that my eyes are hurting. But now I know who this character is! I’ve been seeing her around conventions lately, so I’ll be sure to snap a few photos when I can! Thanks again to Mila for sending this in!
