When Saber was corrupted by Angra Mainyu, her personality changes into an idealist dark hero who managed to hold on to her own values despite being blackened. As she took in the hatred of the curse, she came to the realization that the duty of a hero is to cut down their enemies with all their strength, even is it meant being hated and ostracized. Saber believed that she was prepared for this outcome upon drawing Caliburn and decided to trust her blade to All the World’s Evils.

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Avenger 02

As a combatant, Avenger appeared to be the weakest of all servants in every parameter. However, he can be quite agile and relentless in his attacks. His fang-like twin daggers, Tawrich and Zarich, can be used as sword breakers, but they are unreliable as they sometimes break themselves. Avenger’s skill in manipulating them as melee weapons is average compared to the other servants.

Another great Avenger cosplay, this time photographed by Arne! I guess Imran isn’t the only one who’s patient in getting his fake tattoos done! Thanks again to Imran for sending this in!

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Avenger

The 8th servant who was accidentally summoned in the 3rd war, Avenger suddenly appeared as Bazett Fraga McRemitz’s new servant. His true name was believed to be Angra Mainyu, an evil spirit of Zoroastrianism. However, it was revealed that Avenger was merely a villager who was sacrificed centuries ago due to a misguided fear that he was an incarnation of evil. Although he loved the world, his ordeal made him hate all of humanity.

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Caren Ortensia 02

As a member and priestess of the Church and Burial Agency, Caren Ortensia assists in various exorcisms and battles. The cloth the cosplayer has is known as the red cloth of Magdala, which has the power to forcefully bind men. However, when she uses this ability, no harmful physical attacks can be made against the one who is bound or Magdala will be rendered useless.

Beautiful and daring cosplayer from MoeHaku 2010! With this many good cosplayers in the event, it makes you wonder if it's really the cars they're showing off. Thanks to 4chanatic for sending this in!

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Caren Ortensia

A member of the Church and Burial Agency, Caren is a kind-hearted priestess who believes her only purpose in life is to help others. When she is hurt, she does not blame the individual who hurt her, but places the blame on demons. When she is at fault, she apologizes to God and not to the person she was wronged.

Strangely enough, despite her projected kindness, she loves exploiting other people’s weaknesses, antagonizing them to the point of humiliating them. She also deliberately wears her priestess robes without the skirt to seduce men.

That is one scary priestess. And yes, I know she’s suppose to have white hair, but that has never stopped me from featuring cosplayers like her. Awesome job!

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Dark Saber 02

Once the noble spirit of Arturia Pendragon, Saber’s soul was later corrupted in Fate/Stay Night’s installment, Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Dark Saber is actually more powerful, but she is slightly less agile.

Sadly, the only way her soul could be cleansed is for her Master to kill her… but you all knew that already, right?

Beautiful cosplay! She makes an excellent rival for Calssara. Which do you like best?

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia: Dark Saber

Consumed by the darkness provided by Avenger (who was thought to be Angara Mainyu at the time), Dark Saber is the servant of Mato Sakura. Her original Master, Emiya Shiro, later had to make the bitter choice of killing Saber in order to save her from her misery; a fate she gladly accepted.

Beautiful costume! I found this on Flickr the other day, and the cosplayer’s name is Calssara there. Most of her photos had descriptions saying the costume is for a German Convention, so maybe she’s German? Either way, she makes a great Saber! Good job!
