Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Sonozaki Shion

Although she appears to be more refined and feminine than her younger, twin sister, Mion, Shion is actually incredibly shrewd and manipulative. She hated attending St. Lucia’s Boarding School, and escaped with the help of the Sonozaki Family’s bodyguard, Kasai Tasuyoshi. Shion works as a waitress at the Angel Mort and is also the manager’s assistant for the Hinamizawa Fighters little league team.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Sonozaki Mion

Being the oldest in Maebara Keiichi’s class, Sonozaki Mion is the class president whom everyone looks up to as their leader. She highly respects Keiichi as her friend and rival, but it was revealed much later on that she actually has a crush on him. She acts like a tomboy and is often seen with a holstered airsoft gun, even though she is never seen using it.

I actually though she was Hatsune Miku at first, but it’s a good thing Ling emailed me the character information along with the photo! Could she be a cosplayer we know, I wonder?

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Furude Rika

Revered by the villagers as the heir of the local shrine, Furude Rika plays the role of a miko in the annual Watanagashi Festival. She has been the head of the Furude house since the death of her parents, but barely attends town meetings because she is so young. Nevertheless, Rika sometimes expresses a type of wisdom beyond her years, and is quite fond of sake.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Ryugu Rena 03

Rena’s real name is actually “Reina”, a name she used before she moved from Hinamizawa to Ibaraki with her parents one year prior to the events of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. She discovered that her mother having an affair, triggering the Hinamizawa syndrome, which caused Reina to smash all the windows in her new school and assault three male students with a metal bat. Believing herself to be cursed by Oyashiro for leaving Hinamizawa, Reina returned to the village with her father shortly after the incident and changed her name to “Rena” out of shame of her parents’ subsequent divorce.

This cosplayer looks familiar, but I’m not sure who she could be. She really adorable though! Thanks again to Lily for sending this in!

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Ryugu Rena and Houjou Satoko

Rena and Satoko are considered to be close friends and, on many occasions, Rena had even wanted to take Satoko home. Rena cares dearly for Satoko, and was very concerned about her when she is being abused to by Teppei. In Tsukiotoshi-hen, Rena even agrees to killing Houjou Teppei, Sonozaki Shion, and Maebara Keiichi, if that was what it took to save Satoko.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Houjou Satoko

This girl I'm pretty sure I've seen somewhere before. Maybe not the cosplayer, but definitely the character, but I can’t seem to think of which series she belongs to at the moment.

Guess I’ll have to rely on my Cosplay Holic readers to give me the answer this time. Anyone care to point me in the right direction? Thanks to Gilbert for sending this in!

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Hanyu

I have a feeling I know who she's cosplaying as, but the name of the series escapes me.

I’m guessing she’s a demon because of those horns, but isn’t she wearing a miko’s kimono as well? Or maybe a variation of the traditional shrine maiden?

I can’t help thinking she looks a lot like Kagami from Lucky Stars though.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Ryugu Rena

The main female protagonist of the question arcs, Rena is a kind girl who is also naïve and usually the subject of teasing by Maebara Keiichi. She loves all things she considers adorable calling them "kaii" which is actually "kawaii" only slurred. She also likes to take them home, and is virtually unstoppable when doing so. She also tends to utter the phrase "hau" when she is excited or flustered, and has a habit of repeating phrases at the ends of her sentences.

Beautiful Rena by Kipi! I wasn't sure which anime this was from, but Tama-chan was a big help with that! Thanks again for the contribution, Tama-chan!
