Sword Art Online: Asuna 06

Asuna is a kind and helpful individual who, like Kirito, refuses to abandon anyone in need. She takes the game very seriously and is focused on clearing it as soon as possible. She is described to be somewhat prideful, and is unafraid of dueling with anyone who challenges her authority.

This cosplayer is really beautiful. The lighting was a good choice for this shot too, and that sword looks very nice as well! Thanks to Gina for sending this in!

Sword Art Online: Silica 03

Bright, cheerful, and supportive, Silica is a rare Beast Tamer in Sword Art Online who has a deep attachment to her Feathery Dragon, Pina. She is easily embarrassed and flustered when it comes to romance as she is only 13-years-old. However, Silica became attached to Kirito after he helped her retrieve the flower from the Hill of Memories in order to revive her pet, who died protecting her.

Cute cosplayer! I find it interesting that she used silver cloth for her armor instead of the usual, hard materials some cosplayers use. I guess that’s one other way of making cosplay armor. Thanks again to Jane for sending this in!

Because of his love for computers and Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG), Kirito does not have many real world friends making him a bit socially inept. He is not very good with words and his directness may seem rude to others. It does not help that he can sometimes be overconfident, thinking that he is able to achieve impossible tasks that others can not.

My poor ignored Cosplay Holic. After finishing some massive manga projects, I’m completely drained out! Let’s hope I can get back to updating properly, because I really could use the break from all that drawing. Thanks to Jane for sending this in!

Sword Art Online: Kirito 06

After two years of being trapped within Sword Art Online, Kirito became the infamously known as the Black Swordsman mainly due to his color choice in clothing. He proved to be a very skilled player as he became one of the “clearers” in game, participating in the front lines even when they reached the 74th floor. As a result, Kirito was awarded the unique skill, “Dual Blades” for having the fastest reaction speed in the game.

I love how the cosplayer also has the twin sword sheaths on their back. Not a lot of cosplayers would go through the trouble of making those sheaths, since they have a hard enough time making the swords! Thanks to Genie for sending this in!

Asuna logged into Sword Art Online borrowing her brother’s Nerve Gear after a sudden business trip kept him from playing on the opening day. Upon discovering that all players were trapped inside SAO, Asuna held herself inside her room in Starting City for a week, before resolving to take fate into her own hands. She began killing monsters and leveling up very quickly, not really caring about dying in-game before she met Kirito.

Although their first meeting seemed nothing out of the ordinary, Asuna later fell in love with Kirito while they were trapped in Sword Art Online. However, her bodyguard Kuradeel, a former “Laughing Coffin” red guild member, became obsessed with Asuna and became very jealous of Kirito. Kuradeel tried to murder Kirito when he was forced to join the “Knight of Blood”, but his plan backfired upon Asuna’s arrival at the scene of the crime.

Angie looks like how I’d imagine Asuna would look if she were real. And what a great shot this is! Probably one of my favorites from her gallery. Thanks again to Stilzkin for introducing me to her page!

One of the 10,000 players trapped in Sword Art Online, Sachi was a member of the Black Cats of the Full Moon guild. She and her guild mates were from the same computer club at their school, until they asked Kirito to join them. Sachi is a timid girl who secretly harbored a fear of the game and dying within in. She later shared this fear with Kirito and it was revealed that Sachi was Kirito’s first love prior to Asuna.

I’m really sad that Sachi didn’t get much screen time in the anime, or the light novels for that matter. I could definitely see her becoming a stronger character if she only had the chance to stay with Kirito a bit longer. Thanks to Joanna for sending this in!

After Kirito was almost murdered by Asuna’s bodyguard, the two have decided to get married in game. They also asked for a leave of absence from the frontlines in order to spend some time together. The newly weds chose the 22nd floor for their honeymoon, and lived in a log cabin by the forest.

Such a beautiful photo! I loved the scene where Asuna came to save Kirito from Kuradeel. Although I wished she’d killed him, murdering someone is really no easy task. Thanks to Gene for sending this in!

In SAO, Kirito is the sole possessor of the unique skill “Dual Blades”. This skill is said to be awarded to the player with the fastest reaction time. Kirito kept his unique skill a secret from the other player because he didn’t know the conditions of unlocking the skill. The chosen player is supposed to be the one who will stand against the final boss on the 100th floor, regardless of the outcome of the said battle.

Asuna is one of the very few players who used her real name for her alias in Sword Art Online. Although she seemed like a typical player in the beginning, she became a sub-leader of the Knights of Blood Oath, which was acknowledged as the strongest guild in Aincard. Asuna is strong-willed and an accomplished player known as the “Flash” for her extraordinary sword skill.

A few months after Sword Art Online began, Kirito decided to join a guild known as the “Black Cats of the Full Moon”. He decided to keep his level and status as one of the frontline clearers from his guild mates, possibly because he didn’t want them to know he was the infamous Black Swordsman. He became attached to Sachi, a fairly timid girl who harbored fear of the game and of dying.

One of the rare beast tamers in Sword Art Online, Silica is a 13-year-old, mid-level player who owns a flying dragon named Pina. This made her quite famous and many players tried to get on her good side and some even asked her to marry them in game. She lost Pina when she ventured into the forest alone, but Kirito managed to save her and help her revive her pet.

She’s so cute! And her costume is really well detailed! Gold ribbons really do look best for these types of costumes! Thanks to Ryan for sharing this!

Upon logging into the latest Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) Sword Art Online (SAO), beta tester Kirito decided that if he was going to survive this game of death, he would have to power level in the shortest amount of time possible. As a “solo” player, he preferred to stay away from guilds despite knowing there are limits to what he can do alone. He was quickly labeled as a beater (beta tester and cheater) at the beginning of the series because he claimed the be the sole beta tester to have reached the furthest levels of SAO during its test phase.

In the year 2022, the Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG), Sword Art Online (SAO), is released along with the Nerve Gear, a virtual reality helmet that stimulates the user’s five senses via their brain. This allows players to experience and control their in-game characters with their minds.

On November 6, 2022, when all the players log in for the first time, they subsequently discover that they are unable to log out. Akihiko Kayaba, the creator of SAO, informs them that if they wish to be free, they must reach the 100th floor of the game’s tower and defeat the final boss. However, if their avatars die in-game, their bodies will also die in the real world. The story follows Kirito, a skilled player who is determined to beat the game.
