Fate/Grand Order: Ruler

Ruler is one of the Servants of the Protagonist of the Grand Order. Her True Name is Jeanne d’Arc, also known as Joan of Arc, the Saint of Orleans.

Joan was a Catholic Saint born in Domrémy, France, who claimed that she had received the command of God to fight. She heard the Lord lament that the world had changed, and that the people were compelled to become either beasts or food. Joan later liberated Orléans in the Hundred Years’ War.

I think Jeanne has become my new favorite character, just a little above Saber. I used to read about Joan of Arc when I was in high school and admired how brave she was to fight for God.

I wonder why this particular series draws me in, even though I have never played the game nor have I even seen the anime? I even bought the art book at the Manila International Book Fair, even though it was the browsing copy… I guess it sold out pretty quickly. Not surprising though, because the artwork is really amazing.

A strong and beautiful woman, Boa Hancock is used to having men and women of all ages fall instantly in love with her. However, when she met Luffy, he appeared to be completely immune to her charms, and she initially thought she couldn’t bear the existence of someone like him. She later realized that she was the one who had fallen in love with him instead, and continues to love him even though Luffy rejected her wedding proposal.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Akemi Homura 04

In her original timeline, Homura is portrayed as meek and timid, a complete opposite of her cold and distant self at the beginning of the series. She is known around the school for her lack of confidence and her inability to perform in P.E. class. This is unfortunately due to her being the target of bullying, and she began to question her existence until she became a magical girl.

Sword Art Online: Mother’s Rosario: Konno Yuuki

An Alfheim Online player who has an even faster reaction time than Kirito, Konno Yuuki was the 2nd leader of the Sleeping Knights Guild. She was known as Zekken or “Absolute Sword” due to her winning streak of 67 consecutive duels on the street, including Kirito. She was also known for creating an 11-hit Original Sword Skill.

I’m sure most of the SAO fans already know what happened to Yuuki, so this photo might give you a lot of feels. For the others who haven’t caught up yet, well, this is still a beautiful photo, wouldn’t you agree? Thanks to Crystal for sharing this!

Shingeki no Kyojin: Hanji Zoe and Sonny

Hanji Zoe is the person in charge of the experimentation of the captured titans, which she nicknamed “Sonny” and “Bean”. She and her team performed a number of experiments on them, including testing their response to communication, injury, and sunlight deprivation. Although they had more tests planned, but the two titans were killed by an unknown assailant, who was later revealed to be Annie Leonhart.

Hanji is one of my favorite characters in the series, and apparently, Isayama Hajime has told his editors that Hanji’s gender is up to the readers’ interpretation! In the anime, she’s clearly female, but that was never really confirmed or denied in the manga!

Card Captor Sakura: Li Syaoran 04

Li Syaoran was initially attracted to Tsukishiro Yukito, feelings which he mistakenly thought of to be love. It was later revealed that this infatuation was due to the high moon power inside Yukito, as he was actually the temporary form of Yue, the judge who was allowed to test the next Clow Card Master for his or her worthiness. After the Erase card’s capture however, Syaoran began to develop feelings for Sakura instead.

What a cute Syaoran! I wasn’t much of a CCS fan back when it was airing in local channels here, but I changed my mind right around the time I received a deck of Clow Cards of my own. Thanks to Michelle for sharing this!

In Alfheim Online, Sinon’s cool and collected attitude has gained her a lot of female admirers in their party. She became good friends with Kirito, despite their constant bickering and teasing with one another. Sinon also appears to be one of the few girls Yui gets along with, even though she is close to Kirito.

Kuroshitsuji – Ciel in Wonderland: Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis

In a special OVA of Kuroshitsuji, Ciel Phantomhive stumbles into the world of Alice in Wonderland, a story written by Lewis Caroll. The OVA begins with Ciel doing paperwork in his mansion when he notices Sebastian having a white bunny tail and two rabbit ears. Ciel chased after Sebastian who, similar to the White Rabbit, held up his pocket watch stating that he was late. Ciel continued to follow Sebastian down the corridor until he came upon a room and fell into a colorful place filled with many doors.

Tokyo Ghoul: Kirishima Ayato

An arrogant teenager in his own right, Kirishima Ayato is the younger brother of Kirishima Touka, who goes by the alias “Black Rabbit”. He and his sister share many similarities, including their short tempers and their tendencies to use foul language which could often be considered as inappropriate. Ayato firmly believes in the notion that “the weak perish and the strong survive”, a survival instinct triggered by the death of his parents.

Sword Art Online: Alfheim Online: Asuna 04

On December 7, 2025, as Asuna stood in from of Otemachi Station, the Chiyoda Line waiting for Kazuto, she began to contemplate about “real” things. In the real world, the things that surrounded her were made up of atoms, and within the VMMORPG, it was made up of data, yet what happened in Sword Art Online also felt “real” to her. As she continued to muse about the topic out loud, Kazuto came up from behind her and stated that both worlds were real, except that there was a difference in the quantity of data.

After the Death Gun incident in Gun Gale Online, Lisbeth and Asuna invited Sinon to join Alfheim Online. She created a new avatar and chose the Cait Sith as it has the best eyesight among all the nine races; quite useful, considering how Sinon prefers to attack long range. The Cait Sith has cat ears and a tail, the late of which Kirito pulled as a joke during the expedition of the retrieval of the Holy Sword Excalibur.

Kuroshitsuji: Charles Grey

One of the Queen’s private secretaries and butlers, Earl Charles Grey appears to be carefree most of the time, but he does have a short temper and a violent streak to him. He enjoys combat and has a ravenous appetite, but he is deathly afraid of ghosts and snakes. The Earl seems to have a dislike for Ciel Phantomhive, mostly referring to him as a “brat”.

Let me reintroduce Taiwanese cosplayer, Somei (染井), featured last April 2014 as Toma from Amnesia! Their profile doesn’t really say their gender, but I’m guessing Somei is female?
