Naruto: Sarutobi Hiruzen

The Third Hokage of Konohagakure, Sarutobi Hiruzen was a powerful ninja hailed as a God of Shinobi. He was a source of wisdom to many, passing on the things he had learned to the next generation. As Hokage, he acquired a habit of attempting to end things peacefully in order to avoid bloodshed amongst both his allies and his enemies.

Oh wow, Hirakawa Kazuhiro looks exactly like the character! They did a good job with the make up on his face too! What do you guys think?

Naruto: Gaara 04

Gaara was a kind child who desperately tried to be friendly with others until his father, the fourth Kazekage order Yashamaru to attack Gaara physically and psychologically in order to see if Gaara could gain control the sealed Shukaku within him. As Yashamaru was the only one who seemed to care for him, his assassination attempt upon Gaara twisted his personality and misled him to believe that no one cared for him. Gaara used his sand to carve the kanji for “love” (愛) on his forehead as a symbol of his resolution to become a “demon loving only itself”, and live up to the name his mother gave him.

In a way, Gaara and Naruto have similar childhoods, no? But how they overcame their difficult pasts are completely different. Anyway, what do you guys think of Suga Kenta’s version of Gaara?

Naruto: Uchiha Sasuke 06

Although Sasuke was a kind and loving child, he had grown into cold, cynical, and arrogant young man after the downfall of the Uchiha Clan. During his time at the Academy, Sasuke was a loner who preferred to hone his skills than socializing with other students. However, when he was introduced to Team Kakashi, he first though of his teammates as a hindrance, until he slowly grew attached to them and began to think of them as his family.

Doesn’t Sato Ryuji make a lovely Sasuke? It looks like there are some changes to the textures and layers of his outfit. Maybe it simply looks better on the theatrical stage? I’m really curious to know how the fans thought of this play! Has anyone seen it yet?

Naruto: Uzumaki Naruto 06

Naruto is a boisterous and exuberant individual well-known for his catchphrase “Dattebayo!” or the American alternative, “Believe it!”. He is quite the picky eater, almost exclusively eating ramen for all of his meals. He also likes giving nicknames to anyone he meets, and often addresses them without proper honorifics, even if there is an obvious gap in social standings.

So, fans of this franchise who are in Japan, how was the performance? Frankly, I’m impressed with this photo of Matsuoka Koudai, because a handstand like that is difficult to do! Hopefully a DVD and/or Blu-Ray will be out soon?

Naruto: Hatake Kakashi 05

Hatake Kakashi was not always as carefree as most people know him to be. He used to be very stern and serious, but after the supposed death of teammate, Uchiha Obito, he came to adapt his friend’s cheerful personality. Kakashi even become regularly late for his appointments and would come up with grand excuses, the same way Obito did. However, most of the time that he’s late is because Kakashi frequently visited the memorial stone where Obito’s name is engraved in, and he loses track of time when doing so.

Has anyone seen Naruto Stage yet? I wonder how it is? The cast looks absolutely amazing, so I bet the show’s pretty good too! I really think Kimisawa Yuki’s version of Kakashi is spot on, don’t you?

Naruto: Haruno Sakura 05

Although she could be considered as a boy-crazy, spoiled brat in the beginning of the series, Haruno Sakura is a compassionate and courageous girl who is willing to sacrifice herself to defend her team mates, Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke. She has always had a deep infatuation for Sasuke, and thus finds Naruto’s advances irksome. Sakura is noted for her scholastic intelligence in the Academy and, by training under Master Tsunande, becomes a strong kunoichi and an excellent medical-nin.

I never thought pink hair could look so natural, but Ito Yui certainly pulls it off without a hitch! She’s definitely one of the cutest Sakura’s I’ve seen! Anyway, please visit the the official Naruto Stage website for the full cast list and the actors’ profiles!

Naruto: Yakushi Kabuto

A nukenin or “runaway shinobi”, Yakushi Kabuto was orphaned by war and taken in by an orphanage in Konohagakure. As he was suffering from amnesia, Kabuto is not his real name, but a nickname given to him by Yakushi Nono, the nun who found him. He was pressured into becoming a shinobi by Shimura Danzo, who demanded an orphan from Nono in exchange for funding. Kabuto thus became a spy for the village, assuming many identities which left him unsure of who he truly was.

Doesn’t Kimura Tatsumari look amazing as Kabuto? I’m beginning to wish I could see this stage play for myself, even though I’ve never read or watched Naruto before. Please check out the full cast on the official Naruto Stage website!

Naruto: Inuzuka Kiba

Impulsive, brash, and somewhat short-tempered, Inuzuka Kiba has a taste for combat even when he is facing opponents who are much stronger than him. This could also be considered as his handicap, however, as he is prone to making mistakes whenever he is agitated. Nevertheless, he is fiercely loyal and protective, and is an important team mate of Aburame Shino’s and Hyuga Hinata’s in Team Kurenai.

Iiyama Yuta makes an incredible Kiba, wouldn’t you agree? And it looks like he’s having a lot of fun with this character too! Thanks again to Kotaku for sharing this!

Naruto: Shikamaru Nara 02

Shikamaru Nara had always been a seemingly unenthusiastic kid who preferred to watch the clouds over practically everything else. If he could, he would much rather avoid “troublesome” activities such as training and fighting. Although he claims to be “the number one coward”, he actually has a strong sense of justice, and would sacrifice himself for the sake of his comrades without a second thought.

I’m pretty sure most of you have already heard about the new Naruto Stage coming out next month in Japan, and that many of you have probably seen the cast photos everywhere, but… I thought I’d feature them one at a time anyway! A lot of my friends are swooning over Hattori Tsubaba’s portrayal of Nara, so I suppose I should feature him first. Thanks to Kotaku of sharing this!

Naruto: Yamanaka Ino

Yamanaka Ino was raised by her father to embody the meaning of the violet flower, which symbolizes a blunt, candid love. In other words, she was raised to treasure the bonds she has with her friends and family.

At the Academy, she became friends with Haruno Sakura, who was being bullied at the time due to the size of her forehead. Ino convinced Sakura that hiding her forehead was pointless and that it only made things worse. She then gave Sakura a red ribbon to draw attention elsewhere.

She looks amazing! And I can’t believe I’ve never featured this character before! I guess it’s because I don’t really followed the franchise, but I am familiar with Ino and Sakura’s past. Thanks to Sai for sending this in!

Naruto: Sakon to Ukon

The apparent leaders of the Sound Four, Sakon and Ukon are twin brothers from Otogakure. Orochimaru and Kabuto have acknowledged that Sakon and Ukon are the strongest and fastest members of the team. However, whenever Sakon is interested in his opponent, he tends to use unnecessary strong techniques to toy with his opponent, slowing down the rest of the group. Ukon counteracts this flaw by being more impatient and hasty, forcing Sakon to end his battles quickly.

Creepy and amazing, what can I say? I don’t want to know if that’s another cosplayer behind him/her or if that’s a mannequin head. It bothers me to even think about it. Thanks again to Darlene for sending this in!

Naruto: Uchiha Itachi 05

Uchiha Itachi possesses the ability of Mangekyo Sharingan, a rare ability even among the Uchiha said to only be present among those who have killed their closest friends. Because of this, Itachi was suspected to be Shisui’s killer, when in actuality, Shisui entrusted his last sharingan eye to Itachi in order to protect the village.

Itachi is also the only one capable of using “Izanami”, the powerful form of “Izanagi”. This technique is capable of trapping enemies in an eternal time-loop.

I must confess, I don’t know the series well enough to know who these 5 ninjas are, but Michael was pretty insistent that I should feature this in Cosplay Holic because of how epic the photo is. I do know that the one second to the right is Hatake Kakashi, of course, but is that Naruto’s dad on the left? And the one making goofy faces… could that really be Obito in his younger, more carefree days?

Naruto: Mitarashi Anko 02

Mitarashi Anko is described to be easygoing, tomboyish, playful, stubborn, short-tempered, and sometimes hyperactive, which makes her very similar to Uzumaki Naruto in many ways. However, she has shown to be a very knowledgeable and studious proctor of the second chunin exams.

Anko also has a bloodthirsty side, as shown when she scratched Naruto’s face with a kunai, and licked away his blood. This scene was changed in the anime, as she merely used her finger to wipe it off.

Beautiful cosplay! Although I’ve seen some sites label this to be Uchiha Sasuke rather than Anko. What do you guys think? Thanks again to Sammy for sending this in!

When he was first introduced in Naruto, Uchiha Itachi was shown to be extremely loyal to Akatsuki, as he tried to have Hatake Kakashi disposed of for knowing something about the secretive organization. He was also known to be confident in his abilities, taunting Kakashi for not being as strong as he was, but never in an arrogant manner. However, Itachi did appear to be on good terms with his partner, Hoshigaki Kisame, who immediately does as he asks and worries about Itachi's well-being.

Naruto: Hatake Kakashi 03

Hatake Kakashi was introduced as the leader in charge of Team 7, a new ninja team including Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, and Haruno Sakura. At first, he was thought to be a weak character as he has a tendency to lose track of time, and is thus frequently late to his appointments. However, as he was testing his students, Kakashi revealed himself as a strong opponent to the point he fights while reading “Make Out”, a series of erotic novels.

It was later revealed that Kakashi was actually the infamous “Sharingan no Kakashi”. He possessed the eye technique known as the Sharingan in his left eye which granted him the ability to mimic the movements and as well as the jutsu of others.

Naruto: Haku 03

After wandering from place to place for a time, Haku was found by Zabuza who recognized his talents and agreed to take him in as a tool. As a result, Haku becomes unquestioningly protective and loyal to Zabuza, as he found a purpose in life by being useful to his master. He ultimately gives his life in his mission, becoming a human shield to protect Zabuza from Hatake Kakashi's Lightning Blade.

Naruto: Orochimaru

A former ninja of Konohagakure, Orochimaru left and created his own ninja village, Otogakure, in hopes of destroying his former home. During his time in Konohagakure, Orochimaru distinguished himself as one of the village's most powerful ninja. However, his desire for power led him to obtain a means for immortality by transferring between different host bodies, including Uchiha Sasuke due to his powerful genetic heritage.

Naruto: Gaara 03

A ninja affiliated with Sunagakure, Gaara is the son of the village leader, the Fourth Kazekage. When he was only a fetus, his father attempted to turn him into a human weapon by placing a tailed beast into him, and he was ostracized by the Sunagakure villagers. As a result, Gaara became a ruthless killer, slaying others without remorse, and treating his siblings Kankuro and Temari with contempt.
