Constantine: Gabriel

After exorcising a girl possessed by a demon soldier trying to break through to Earth, John Constantine seeks an audience with the androgynous half-breed angel Gabriel. John asked Gabriel to heal him of his lung cancer, but Gabriel declines, telling John that his motives for exorcising demons are selfish and that it will not grant him entry into Heaven. It is later revealed that Gabriel laments God’s favoritism towards humans and planned to release Lucifer’s son, Mammon, let him claim Earth as his own kingdom.

Shingeki no Kyojin: Hanji Zoe and Sonny

Hanji Zoe is the person in charge of the experimentation of the captured titans, which she nicknamed “Sonny” and “Bean”. She and her team performed a number of experiments on them, including testing their response to communication, injury, and sunlight deprivation. Although they had more tests planned, but the two titans were killed by an unknown assailant, who was later revealed to be Annie Leonhart.

Hanji is one of my favorite characters in the series, and apparently, Isayama Hajime has told his editors that Hanji’s gender is up to the readers’ interpretation! In the anime, she’s clearly female, but that was never really confirmed or denied in the manga!

Ao no Exorcist: Okumura Yukio 03

Okumura Yukio and his older twin brother Rin, are often seen arguing, but they do care about each other quite a lot. Yukio often berates Rin for his impulsiveness, but the truth is, Yukio is afraid that his brother would be consumed by his demonic powers. In the anime, Yukio eventually becomes a demon himself just like his brother, but in the manga, he attains “Satan’s Eyes”, but it was never explained what this ability entails.

I really do love characters with glasses, don’t you? It makes them look intelligent, and fans of this series all know how smart Yukio is. Thanks to Robins for sending this in!

Tachibana Akane joined the Kouzu Basketball Club because his rival, Hiiragi Hitonari, inspired him to play once more after he joined the same school. He is often seen drinking flavored milk as he believed this will help him grow taller. Despite his height, however, he proves to be a talented basketball player. His position in the team is Forward.

I’ve been researching a bunch of basketball manga lately since one of my series revolves around the sport. “I’ll” has been pretty interesting so far, and I think I might actually like it better than Slam Dunk. Thanks to TsukiHiro for sharing this!

Berserk: Guts 02

The main protagonist of Berserk, Guts was the former raid unit leader of a mercenary group known as the Band of the Hawk. He has the most complex personality in the entire series, but it could also be said that this makes him the most “human” among all the characters introduced. However, he does possess titanic strength, and is thus regarded by many as the personification of endurance and human willpower.
