Princess Tutu: Princess Kraehe 03

Although Princess Kraehe loved Mytho dearly, her jealousy interfered with Princess Tutu’s attempts to restore Mytho’s heart, because Kraehe feared that he would fall in love with someone else. Her father, the Raven, used her as a means to revive himself, to which Kraehe dutifully obeys. It was later revealed that she was not a raven herself, but a human girl kidnapped by the Raven during his attack on the town.

Princess Tutu: Fakir and Princess Tutu

Fakir is Drosselmeyer’s descendant who became the reincarnated Knight of Drosselmeyer’s story. Fakir later realized that he too had the ability to bend reality with his writing, but only when he is writing stories about Ahiru. Although he was initially harsh towards her, Fakir eventually fell in love with Ahiru and promised to stay by her side forever.

Princess Tutu: Ahiru

A friendly and kind-hearted duck, Ahiru was turned into a human girl by Drosselmeyer with the use of a magical pendant. When Ahiru removes the pendant or quacks while talking, she is turned back into a duck. She must then touch the water in order to return to her human form. Like a duck, Ahiru is easily excitable, clumsy, and talkative.

Princess Tutu: Mytho 02

A noble and kind prince, Mytho sacrificed himself in order to seal the Raven and protect his people. Although he has gained popularity in Gold Crown Academy as a very talented ballet dancer, he is emotionless and largely dependent on his childhood friend, Fakir, for his well-being. He later regains his heart piece by piece thanks to Princess Tutu.

Princess Tutu: Princess Kraehe 02

An advanced ballet student greatly admired by most pupils, Rue’s alter ego is Princess Kraehe, who is said to be the daughter of the Raven. She has loved Mytho since childhood because he defended her when she was attacked by crows. When Mytho’s heart was shattered, Rue took advantage of his apathy and pretended they were a couple.

This is one of my favorite series of all time! I’m so happy to see Mussum cosplay Princess Kraehe! She’s even in en pointe (at least, I think that’s the term for someone in ballet standing on their tip-toes)! Thanks for letting me feature you again, Mussum!

Princess Tutu: Princess Tutu and Princess Kraehe

Rivals in winning the love and favor of Prince Mytho, Princess Tutu will stop at nothing to retrieve her beloved Prince’s shattered heart, while Princess Kraehe will stop at nothing to prevent returning his heart shards fearing she will lose him to someone else. Princess Tutu loved the Prince unselfishly and, despite knowing she would disappear once she confesses her love for him, fulfilled her duty that he may find true happiness and smile once more. Incidentally, Princess Kraehe loved the Prince ever since childhood, as the Prince once defended her from the Ravens.

Two Princesses who love the same Prince in different yet similar ways. Twins Genki-uHinagiku and Miaka2u are the cosplayers behind the lovely Princesses. They apparently spent more than 500 hours each on their costumes with beautiful results!

Princess Tutu: Princess Tutu 02

The elegant and graceful dancer, Princess Tutu is Arima Ahiru’s alter ego who is unselfishly in love with Prince Mytho. She is caught in a dilemma of saying her true feeling because if she is to confess to him, she will turn into a speck of light and vanish forever. Thus, she fulfills her duty and collects the shards of Mytho’s heart in order to give him true happiness.

Beautiful cosplay! I’m glad a real ballerina decided to cosplay her since I’m a huge fan of the series. I only wish there was a Rue or Mytho with her. Great job!

Princess Tutu: Fakir, Princess Tutu, and Mytho

A girl who is really a duck falls in love with a Prince who has lost his heart. Because she loves him so unconditionally, Ahiru decides that she must find the shattered pieces of Mytho's heart in order for him to find true happiness and love. But the knight, Fakir, wishes to protect Mytho from his tragic past, and gets in Princess Tutu's way in restoring his heart.

This anime is pretty much the story of Swan Lake, a famous ballet performance. The anime also revolves around ballet, but the lead character is not a graceful swan, but rather a clumsy little duck.

I loved this series when it first aired. This should probably be on my DVD and Manga list. Beautiful cosplay!
