Air Gear: Minami Itsuki 02

Originally trained to become the Wind King, and eventually the Sky King, Minami Itsuki soon found himself betrayed by Takeuchi Sora and his twin brother Nike, who conspired together to steal his Regalia. When they did this, Ikki is stripped of the chance to become the next Wind King. Shortly thereafter, however, Ikki was instead named the Storm King, following the “Hurricane Road” by his Principal.

Indonesian cosplayer Zero Rama send me his version of Ikki, and yes, he’s a “he”! Looks like the guys are finally sending their cosplays to Cosplay Holic now. Thanks again for letting me post this!

Air Gear: Wanijima Agito 04

As the manga developed, Agito grew to respect Ikki and his strength. In some scenes, Agito is shown to be very weak while he is asleep. This has something to do with his physique, as he is quite thin and short. It was later revealed that his strength comes from his motivation, willpower, and pride.

Not too sure if this photo is allowed on blogspot or not because of that finger, but this is very “in character” for the cosplayer to do. Hopefully, I won’t get banned for posting this. Thanks to Regal for sending this in!

Air Gear: Noyamano Shiraume

Known as “Ume” to her family, Noyamo Shiraume is the youngest among her sisters and supposedly the weakest member of Sleeping Forest in terms of AT fighting skills. However, as a gravity child, Ume is able to battle extremely well in the Tropheum. She usually keeps to herself, creating and playing with puppets in the guise of gorgons.

So cute! I really like her doll too. I wonder if she made it herself? Thanks to Pat for sending this!

Air Gear: Minami Itsuki

A free spirited AT rider, Minami Itsuki is known as "Ikki" by his friends and "Crow" to many others. He has a natural affiliation for being in the sky and was introduced to ATs by the Noyamano family, an acquaintance he lives with after the death of his parents. Ikki is often characterized as a crow thanks to the small crow, Kuu, who uses his hair as a nest.

Air Gear: Wanijima Agito 03

Agito is the violent side of Akito/Agito/Lind Wanijima. He has the ability to use ATs to fulfill his bloodthirsty nature that Akito lost when he became disgusted with himself. Agito tends to swear a lot and he uses four hooks dangling from the straps on his legs to battle and tear people apart.

Lovely cosplay! The cosplayer's kind of intimidating in this photo, and the pose seems so in character. I say "seems" because I've yet to watch this, so anyway! Thanks again to Ingrid for sending this!

Air Gear: Wanijima Agito 02

Physically weak due to his short and thin stature, Akito/Agito is a powerful AT user because of his motivation, willpower, and pride. Akito, the innocent and non-violent personality, has been acting as Agito’s tuner until recently. Because Akito could not fully hear his own biorhythm, he could only keep his other half’s AT and Regalia barely operational. It was not until Nakayama Yayoi tuned him that Fang Regalia became complete.

Impressive cosplay, and with real rollerblades too! It looks like the cosplayer is wearing an anime convention’s ID, but I wonder which? Thanks to Omi for sending this in!

Air Gear: Wanijima Kaito

The older brother of Akito/Agito Wanijima, Kaito is the leader of the special SWAT team “Windstorm G-Men” that was created to hunt down Storm Rider teams. The Shinjuku Crocodile views his brother to be nothing more than a tool. It is speculated, however, that Lind, the “original” personality of Akito/Agito, is very similar to Kaito.

Beautiful cosplay! I still need to find the time to watch this series… I heard it’s pretty good, with a lot of action in it. Anyway, thanks for sharing this and great work!

Air Gear: Wanijima Akito 02

The Fang King who was originally amongst the Wind SWAT team, Wanijima Akito was saved from his fate by Kogarasumaru’s Leader, Minami “Ikki” Itsuki.

Even though Akito stated that he was the original Fang King; another personality, Wanijima Lind emerges from the battle against Orca. Lind is stronger than the two and does not care for anyone… not even for Akito and Agito.

I didn’t know there was a blue version of his costume. The original design was color orange, if I’m not mistaken. Thanks to Exhibition MindBlue for sharing the photo!

Air Gear: Noyamano Ringo and Simca

She may look like a simple junior high school girl, but the King Class AT user, Noyamano Ringo, is the current Thorn King (or rather “Queen”) of the Eight Kings in the AT World. She is the successor of the legendary Storm Riders Team Sleeping Forest and Simca’s rival to Minami Itsuki aka “Ikki”.

And of course, I’ve already rambled about Simca here. No need for a repeat, am I right? :D

I do think I like this Simca cosplayer better than the first one though. Then again, maybe that’s just because of the costume?

Air Gear: Simca

Simca is the leader of the Genesis group from Air Gear. She wants to gather all the Kings and their Regalia in order to conquer the Trophaeum Tower and acquire the Sky Regalia. It is also perhaps because of this that she has taken a great (somewhat romantic) interest in Minami “Ikki” Itsuki because she believes he is destined to become the legendary Sky King. She was able to convince him to take the lead on Genesis after Kogarasumaru’s triumph over Behemoth.

This is a very convincing cosplay of Simca the Swallow. Love the costume and the attitude. Great cosplay!

Air Gear: Wanijima Akito a.k.a. Agito

I got to watch a few episodes of Air Gear last weekend, and I really loved it. It’s amazing what they can do on those skates (air trecks)..!

But the character Wanijima Akito / Agito amused me the most.

He is an ordinary boy who was forced by his older brother, Kaito, to violence for the benefit of his Wind SWAT Team. Not wanting to be a part of it anymore, he created his violent alter ego called Agito.

Agito took over the title as “Fang King” and Akito became a mediocre rider of ATs. After being rescued by Minami Itsuki, aka “Ikki”, he became one of the founding members of Kogarasumaru. Akito becomes Agito when his eye patch is covering his left eye.

Here’s an interesting trivia… I found this picture from Deviant Art, and the photographer’s account name is Shiroin.
