If you ever wanted to cosplay as the female titan from Shingeki no Kyojin, I think this make up tutorial may be quite useful for you guys.
I didn’t know you could use wig glue for getting those textures on your face. I don’t think I’d dare, but it’s an idea nonetheless. Thanks to fashion designer Kimura U for the awesome video!
If you’ve always wanted to try cosplaying but are not completely sure how much it would cost you, we may have found an alternative from your usual, online cosplay shop.
Carbon Costume gives suggestions on how you can achieve the look of your character by purchasing “normal”, everyday clothes. Of course, some of the accessories are specially made, but who carries around a sorcerer’s staff to work anyway?
Overall, the site is amusing and rather brilliant. All the items needed are linked within the article too! As for the cosplay fans, this will also give you a rough idea how much cosplayers actually spend to perfect their craft. It’s not a cheap hobby when you’re really taking it seriously! I mean, just look at all the stuff you need to buy for one character!
So, you want to cosplay a character and have a cool sword to go with it… However, buying the actual sword would be expensive, and you might not even be able to bring it to the convention your planning to attend because it may be considered to be a deadly weapon. In some conventions, swords made out of wood have also been banned, and it would be hard to learn wood carving on your own.
In this video, Returacan makes a sword from the now infamous Sword Art Online out of paper, popsicle sticks, and lots of glue. I used his techniques in supporting the inside of Rei’s Fireblade, which worked out pretty well and passed security no problem.

Oh No! Manga Cosplay Camp 2012 will be starting in a few hours, and I’ve managed to create a cosplay prop sword from my premier series, “Karma”!
I encourage everyone to attend as I will also be taking pictures of the cosplayers attending to be featured on Cosplay Holic. But of course, not everyone is from the Philippines, so I decided that I should add the sword tutorial for this post as well.
It’s not a formal tutorial, but you can find my work in progress posts in my blog:
A formal tutorial should be posted in a few days. For now, I’ll leave you guys with this, and if you have any questions, you can post a comment here or in each of my blog posts for anything specific.
Because a lot of people on Cosplay Holic's Facebook FanPage seem to be interested in advanced techniques for cosplays, I've decided to post this video by Kamui:
Frankly, I quite surprised that you can actually add lights to your cosplays. This is perfect for World of Warcraft cosplays as well any of the series produced by CLAMP.
So, what do you guys think? Would you like to see more posts like this in the future? Please leave your comments in this post and let me know! And after you do that, visit Kamui for more of her awesome cosplays!
