Marvel: Loki 02

marvel / the avangers cosplay - loki by loki hates youAfter the battle against the Frost Giants, Odin found a small, Asgardian-sized child hidden with the primary stronghold. This child was Loki, the son of the fallen King Laufrey, who hid him due to his shame over his son’s small size. Odin took the boy in out of pity, and also in order to appease his father, Bor, who had cursed Odin for leaving him to die. Odin raised Loki alongside his biological son, Thor, although they were treated differently by the citizens of Asgards because of their differences.

Honestly, when I saw the full body photo, I thought it was one of those hot toys posed outside or something. But when I realized it was an actual cosplayer, I was floored! The details are amazing and his expression is spot on! I’m sure many of you would love to support him, so here’s his Facebook and Twitter! Thanks to Merida for sending this in!

Marvel: Apocalypse

Everyone seems to be reacting to the new Apocalypse reveal for the upcoming X-Men movie. Jamie, one of our readers, asked me to feature Mick Ignis today and his cosplay of Apocalypse because he was very disappointed with Hollywood’s version as seen on Entertainment Weekly.

I gotta admit though, Mick’s version is pretty amazing! If you like this photo, you simply must check out his Facebook page as there are plenty more where that came from! Thanks again to Jamie for sending this in!

Marvel: War Machine

Due to Obadiah Stane's actions, Stark International began losing foreign contacts and thus fell into heavy debt. Tony Stark relapsed into alcoholism and was defeated by Magma. It was then that James Rupert “Rhodey” Rhodes first donned the Iron Man armor and defeated Magma. Stark proposed to Rhodes to take his place as Iron Man as both his company and personal life were in disarray.

This was another impressive cosplay from the Oh No! Manga OCTO CON 2 because of all the lights and moving parts in his armor. He even had the sound effects to go with his catwalk! I just hope the cosplayer didn’t have a hard time, since it must be pretty hot under all that armor.

Chobits / Marvel: Chi and Deadpool

chobits marvel cosplay crossover - chi and deadpool

While waiting for the second batch of cosplayers to walk on to the stage, I saw this adorable scene of Chi sitting with Deadpool. I think a conversation between these two characters would be pretty interesting, so even though the photo is pretty blurry, I wanted to feature them anyway.

I found out on the Octo Con event page that Deadpool’s cosplayer is Mark Anthony Vibas. He was pretty funny when he danced to Hatsune Miku’s “The World is Mine”, and he was a great stand up comedian too! I do hope I get to see more of him and his cosplays in future events.

“Our glasses! We can't see without our glasses!”

I have nothing to say. This crossover is way too awesome for words. Surely you must understand why? Thanks to Janet for sending this in!

Marvel: Spiderman 02

When Peter Parker first learned about his super human abilities, he initially sought to capitalize on this and donned his Spiderman costume to become a novelty television star. However, as portrayed in the first movie, his ignorance to catch a fleeting thief ironically caught up to him when the same criminal later robbed and killed his Uncle Ben. Although he later managed to catch the killer, Peter learned the now infamous quote “With great power, comes great responsibility.”

Pretty amazing cosplayer from Comic Con Birmingham 2013! His costume is very well-made, and I especially love the webbing detail. Thanks to Xing Imagery for sending this in!

Marvel: Spiderman

marvel cosplay - spiderman

An orphan living in New York City with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, Peter Parker was bitten bitten by a radioactive spider at a science exhibit when he was only in high school. He then acquired “the agility and proportionate strength of an arachnid”, giving him super strength and the ability to adhere to walls and ceilings. Through his love for science and ingenuity, he developed a gadget that lets him fire adhesive webbing through small, wrist-mounted barrels.

Alright, we all know who this web-slinger is, but you probably haven’t heard that these two heroes are just your average, everyday window washers who decided to don their superhero costumes when then went to work cleaning windows at a children’s hospital in England. Now if that’s not cosplaying for a cause, I don’t know what is. Thumbs up to you guys!
