Pokemon: Pikachu Gijinka

Pikachu is one of the species of Pokemon that can be captured, trained, and used in battle. According to series producer Tajiri Satoshi, the name “Pikachu” is derived from two Japanese sounds: “pika”, a sound of an electric spark, and “chu”, a sound a mouse makes. This pokemon, among many others, were conceived the Game Freak’s character development team, which were later finalized by artist Sugimori Ken.

For those who are unfamiliar with the term, gijinka is a form on anthropomorphism, or the personification of non-human beings, objects, concepts, or phenomena. And what a cute Pikachu Gijinka this cosplayer makes! I bet many trainers would love to capture her! Thanks to Kai for sending this in!

Vocaloid 2: SF-A2 codename miki

SF-A2 codename miki debuted last December 2009 under Vocaloid 2, and is voiced by Japanese singer, Furukawa Miki. Although she is nicknamed “SF-A2 miki”, the meaning of SF-A2 was never officially defined.

In 2012, Miki was redesigned to look like she is made of inorganic material, turning her into an android. However, she still maintains a pre-teen appearance like her predecessors, Hatsune Miku and Kagamine Rin.

I’m not sure what she did with her arms and legs, but she definitely looks like a doll to me! Great detailing, and that ahoge defintely takes the cake! Thanks to Joanna for sending this in!

Trinity Blood: Caterina Sforza

Caterina Sforza is the strong-willed Duchess of Milan who knows no fear and shows strong resolve in her beliefs. She is the head of the Ministry of Holy Affairs and leads the AX Agency, making her Father Abel Nightroad’s boss. She is the older sister of the 399th Pope of Rome, his Holiness, Alessandro XVIII, and is willing to die in order to protect him.

A rather stunning cosplay of the beloved, head-strong Duchess! I still can’t believe how much attention to detail these cosplayers have when it comes to this series. She looks absolutely amazing! Thanks to Toph for sending this in!

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de - Hachiyou Shou: Shirin

The only surviving female among the Oni Clan, Shirin has strong feelings for their leader, Akuram, and is willing to do anything for him. However, this affection appears to be one-sided, as Akuram seems to only be interested in the Priestess of the White Dragon God, Motomiya Akane. She is thereby extremely jealous of Akane, and on one occasion,  even went behind Akuram’s back and assaulted the priestess.

I feel bad for her. Shirin seems to be quite sincere when it comes to her feelings for Akuram, but he doesn’t even look at her. I hope she’ll manage to find someone who will love her in the end. Please visit Yugi’s Profile for more of her amazing cosplays!

Rurouni Kenshin: Shinomori Aoshi

Born on January 1853 in Tokyo Prefecture, Shinomori Aoshi was raised as a ninja of the Oniwabanshu who gained the position of Okashira at the age of fifteen. He is a very quiet and intelligent individual who always thinks before he acts. The creator of the series, Watsuki Nobuhiro, said that he based Aoshi’s character on the historical figure Hijikata Toshizo, the Deputy Leader of the Shinsengumi.

This is the official photo of Japanese actor, Iseya Yusuke, who will be playing the role of Aoshi in the second live-action movie “Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc”! I’m pretty excited to see this movie, and I’m sure Iseya-san will do very well in this film! Thanks to Eric for sending this in!

Hisoka is a serial killer who combines his love of violence with magic tricks. He is described to be playful, deceitful, as well as narcissistic in nature. He does not form an alliance with anyone unless it is according to his own self-interests and will easily change sides once he is bored.

Frozen: Elsa and Anna

Alright, alright, you all probably already know that this is not a real cosplay of Disney’s Frozen characters: Elsa, the Snow Queen and Anna, Princess of Arendelle, but a very clever photo manipulation similar to Taylor Swift’s “Saber Cosplay”. You have to admit though, the Olsen twins Mary Kate and Ashley definitely look the part. And hey, it’s Christmas eve, and there’s no better movie to see for the holidays, right?

Strawberry Panic!: Hanazono Shizuma

The current Etoile from St. Miator Girls’ Academy, Hanazono Shizuma is a highly respected and well-loved onee-sama of Astrea Hill. She appears to be a very mysterious person who does not easily allow anyone to get close to her. Despite her difficult personality, she has many fans and is also infamous for her talents in acting and playing the piano.

A very beautiful Shizuma by Hasumi (蓮見)! I don’t really like this character very much, but she is the main character of Strawberry Panic! And well, I can’t deny that this cosplayer portrays her very well. Thanks again to Norby for sending this in!

Harukanaru Toki no Naka de - Hachiyou Shou: Abe no Yasuaki

A serious and seemingly emotionless individual, Abe no Yasuaki is a gifted apprentice of the famous sorcerer, Abe no Seimei. Although he is quite capable as a sorcerer, Yasuaki does not understand a lot of things, and is rather straightforward, almost childlike when conversing with others. He is later granted the powers of one of the Eight Guardians as the Genbu of Earth.

I’ve recently picked up this manga series and I’m quite impressed with the high level of details in the artwork! Yasuaki is definitely one of my favorites , but it’s really hard to choose only one from all of the characters in the series.

In one theory, it is believed the the Book of Revelation was written as a reaction against the religious oppression caused by Saber’s true identity, Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. She was regarded in the same light as the devil, as the assumed Hebrew pronunciation of her name as emperor, Nero Caesar “NRVN QSR” equates to the “Number of the Beast”. This name, and the “Beast of Babylon”, refers to Rome itself, not an alias given to her as an individual.
