The Little Mermaid: Ursula

A Cecaelia (part human, part octopus) sea witch, Ursula stated that she once lives in the royal palace of King Triton. She “helps” unfortunate merfolk to achieve her own goals, and those merfolk who could not fulfill their part of the contract were transformed into a polyp. Ursula kept an eye on Ariel, Triton’s youngest daughter, in hopes of seizing Triton’s power to rule the seas.

When Sarah send in this email, I have to admit, the photo really scared me! I love “The Little Mermaid”, and Matsu Sotome made it look like Ursula jumped out of the film and came into our world! Really amazing work, and now my childhood nightmares are gonna be back to haunt me tonight, I’m sure…

Weiß Kreuz: Fujimiya Ran (Aya)

Fujimiya Ran is a Weiss assassin under the order of Kritiker, a secret organization that falls under the Japanese police force. He is known to the group as “Aya”, a name that belongs to his sister who was run over by Takatori Reiji. With both his parents murdered, and his sister in a coma, Aya joined Weiss in hopes of seeking revenge for his family.

I remember watching this series about the same time Sailor Moon was airing here in the Philippines. I loved this character the most, and I must say, Hito Ame (一雨) did a great job of portraying him! Thanks to Hana for sending this in!

Yami no Matsuei: Muraki Kazutaka and Tsuzuki Asato 02

Muraki Kazutaka first learned about Tsuzuki Asato through his grandfather’s notes, and thus became obsessed with Tsuziki’s body, both carnally and scientifically. Although a lot about Muraki has remained a mystery, he referred to himself as a Descendant of Darkness like Tsuzuki in the final episode of the anime.

Kidzuki Sakura (姫月さくら) and Mitsugu (ミツグ) definitely make a lovely pair, especially for this particular series. Please do visit Sakura’s Profile for more of their work. Thanks again to Hachimitsu for sending this in!

Pandora Hearts: Oz Vessalius 02

In order to find out what the “sin of his existence” meant, Oz began working under Break as part of Pandora. It was later revealed that when Oz was still young, he worked very hard to gain the praise and recognition of his father, only to discover that his father hated him to the point of not wanting to touch him. Because of this resentment, Oz began to think that there is no guaranteed thing in the world, and became an obedient child who allowed harm to come his way in order to protect people.

A very beautiful Oz by Tiny Cosplay! And a great location in Paris to shoot as well! I really love all the detail work on this cosplay, and those extra, fluffy frills! Thanks to Terrence for sending this in!

How to Train Your Dragon 2: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III

Five years after the events of the first film, Hiccup changed the hearts of the Vikings of Berk from dragon hunters to dragon riders and caretakers. He made several changes to accommodate their new found companions, including custom stables, all-you-can-eat feeding stations, a full-service dragon wash, top of the line fire prevention methods, and even dragon races that now serve as entertainment for Berk. However, as “The Pride of Berk”, his father, Stoick the Vast, pressures him to become the next chief, a responsibility that Hiccup feels he is not fully ready to take.

Oh wow, I was so surprised to find out this cosplayer, Liui Aquino, is from the Philippines! But a bit more disappointing was that he was at the recent Toy Con, and I never got to see him, even though I stood in front of the same movie poster!

Ok, ok, we did go during different days, but it still makes me sad. I guess I’ll find him at another convention next time! Thanks to Daniel for sharing this!

Kuroshitsuji: Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis 03

In Kuroshitsuji Chapter 67: “That Butler, Attending School”, Ciel and Sebastian go undercover in Weston College as student and teacher at the request of Queen Victoria. Derrick, the son of the queen’s cousin Duke Clemens, is a fifth year at Weston college who refused to go home for some reason or another. Ciel uses his own identity as the school is entirely made up of sons of nobility, and Sebastian became a dormitory warden so as to report to Ciel inconspicuously.

Doesn’t Kuromitsu (黒蜜)make a cute Ciel? And Kidzuki Sakura (姫月さくら) makes a lovely Sebastian as well! I found it a little disturbing that a devil was wearing a priest’s clothing, but I suppose it was necessary for this undercover work. Thanks to Pina for sending this in!

Yami no Matsuei: Kurosaki Hisoka 02

When Hisoka was 13-years-old, he went out one night to see the sakura trees near his home. Unfortunately, he witnessed Muraki killing an unknown woman. In order to keep Hisoka quiet, Muraki tortured Hisoka and cursed him to die a slow death that lasted 3 years. In the afterlife, Hisoka became a shinigami hoping to uncover the truth behind his untimely death.

This looks like the scene after Muraki’s curse on Hisoka. I really felt bad for this character, but I didn’t realize “that” happened to him until much later. In any case, thanks to Miaka for sending this in!
