Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi and Kaidou Kio

Fellow art student and classmate of Soubi’s, Kaidou Kio claims to be one of Soubi’s only friends and he shows this friendship by flirting with him. Truthfully, Kio is fascinated with Soubi’s art style and skill which is what led his desire to become friends with Soubi. Soubi, on the other hand, became interested in Kio because of the tattoo on his back, and the vow he took when he got it.

Great cosplay! I don’t get to see a lot of good Kio cosplayers, so this is quite rare for me! First found on Yun Koga – Loveless’ Tumblr!

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi and Aoyagi Seimei

Although Ritsuka believed that his brother, Seimei to be a kind, gentle, and loving person, it was later revealed in the series that he had a violent personality, or destructive behavior at the very least. When Seimei reappeared in Septimal Moon, he attacked Ritsu and left him blind after having a short conversation about Soubi. Later that same evening, he wrote a haunting message saying “Ritsuka, I’m back,” on the wall using Ritsu’s blood.

Some suggestions have been made in the series that Seimei possesses greater powers than any normal sacrifice. Soubi is known to be almost afraid and spiteful of Seimei, and described his former “master” to be inhuman.

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 02

Beloved’s Fighter, Agatsuma Soubi, is a 20 year old art student who used to attend Shichisei Gakuen, a school for fighters. Ritsuka’s brother, Seimei’s true name is Beloved, as Ritsuka’s is Loveless. Under Seimei’s orders, Soubi became Ritsuka’s fighter, despite it being considered taboo. Eventually, Soubi abandoned the name altogether and operated under the name Loveless.

Wow… this cosplayer looks like he/she jumped out of the Loveless anime or manga. Really love the hair and how it was styled. I think this cosplayer is a girl though, but that doesn’t matter much since Soubi looks like a girl..?

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 04

A fighter’s role is to follow everything his sacrifice orders him to. With Soubi’s case, who is a blank fighter that can serve any sacrifice, he appears to be following Ritsuka’s every command, and yet he refuses to speak about Seimei’s death.

Why would he do something like that?

Because to him, Seimei’s words are absolute.

I love how this picture was composed. A lot of fans know that Soubi, despite being associated with butterflies, adores flowers. How does this compare to the three other Soubi cosplayers I’ve featured in this blog? I think I like all of them honestly. Awesome job on this one!

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi and Aoyagi Ritsuka

I’ve received a request to find a male cosplayer of Agatsuma Soubi from Loveless. Sadly, I wasn’t able to find one from my collection or on google, so this will have to do, I guess?

Aoyagi Ritsuka’s brother, Seimei, died early because of an accident, thus giving Ritsuka amnesia.

Ritsuka meets Agatsuma Soubi on his first day of school. Soubi claims to be his brother’s “fighter” and because of his death, he was now Ritsuka’s. The world of master and servant and spell fighting is later revealed to Ritsuka as Seimei’s world.

I won’t divulge further about Loveless since it’s a shonen ai anime. I hear the manga is yaoi too. I prefer to get out of the Sanriotown Moderators’ way. 8)

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 07

Agatsuma Soubi is a fighter with a difficult past. His mother was his teacher’s fighter. Upon the death of his parents at the young age of 6, his eyes were opened to the world of Spell Battles involving Fighters and Sacrifices. Soubi is said to be a blank fighter who does not belong to anyone. Perhaps that is the reason why he so longs to be controlled.

Beautiful Soubi! I think this cosplayer’s a girl, though I can’t be sure. I love the wig and the pose. Great work!

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 05

I had no idea this anime / manga was so popular. Particularly, Soubi.

You might recognize her as Stay, whom I had featured before as Kuran Kaname from Vampire Knight. I particularly love the way Stay’s wig looks so natural in this picture.

I suppose I can shut up about who Soubi is, since this is his 5th entry, am I right?

Loveless: Aoyagi Ritsuka and Agatsuma Soubi

On the first day of his new school, Aoyagi Ritsuka meets an unusual friend of his late brother's named Agatsuma Soubi. He later finds out that Seimei had commanded Soubi to become his sentouki or fighter upon Seimei's death. Ritsuka is hastily thrown into the world of spell battles involving the people behind his brother's death: the organization known as Nanatsu no tsuki, the Septimal Moon.

Impressive cosplay. I was hoping this anime would continue after the manga got further along, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I suppose the manga's all we have to find out about Seimei's death. Wonderful job on this!

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 03 (and Dear Daniel?!)

So apparently, Soubi’s trying to feed Dear Daniel some congee. Why that is, I have no idea. Doesn’t Soubi know that Dear Daniel doesn’t even have a mouth? And he really looks like he doesn’t want any.

I think this cosplay is both impressive and funny. Something that will interest a lot of Sanriotown Members, haha~! 8) Do you like this cosplayer better than the other two?

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi and Aoyagi Seimei 02

At Seimei’s request, Soubi was given to Seimei as a fighter when Seimei was only fourteen years old. It was often speculated by fans that there is some kind of rivalry between Seimei and Ritsu, but there's no information in the series that confirms these speculations.

Seimei’s violent streak, however, was undeniable in volume 8, as Seimei stabbed Ritsu’s eyes after having a short yet heated conversation about Soubi. Seimei later left a haunting message “Ritsuka I’m Back,” on the wall written with Ritsu’s blood for his younger brother.

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi and Aoyagi Ritsuka 02

As ordered by his previous master, Soubi contacted Ritsuka after Seimei’s death. He introduced Ritsuka to the world of fighters and sacrifices and told Ritsuka that he was his Fighter Unit. Many knew Soubi to be Seimei’s fighter, thus his relationship with Ritsuka was considered taboo because there is no fighter-sacrifice bond between them.

Another beautiful cosplay found on Loveless Cosplay’s Tumblr! If I’m not mistaken, this is a reenactment of one of the covers from the manga. I’m not too sure how accurate the clothes are though! Thanks for sharing this with us!

Loveless: Agatsuma Soubi 12

According to GoBoiano, Loveless manga is finally set to resume this fall!

Not a lot of details have been given at this point, but Mangaka Kouga Yun has stated that she expects there will only be two or three volumes left to complete the series.

I bet the fans are going to be excited to read the final chapters! Loveless started way back in 2001, so it must be such a long wait to finally receive the ending. Thanks to Chet for writing about this, and to Mika for sending in Chinese cosplayer, Cookie’s cosplay of Agatsuma Soubi!

Loveless: Aoyagi Ritsuka 03

12-years-old yet mature for his age, Aoyagi Ritsuka lost his brother, Seimei, 2 years ago, resulting in his dramatic personality change and memory loss. Ritsuka used to have a lot of friends in school and gets average grades, but now he is the complete opposite of who he once was. He is now cynical towards others and gets perfect scores in his new school. He once claimed that he is someone else it Ritsuka's body, but that is because of the abuse he receives from his mother.

Despite his intelligence and maturity, topics about love are uncomfortable to him. Especially when the words "I Love You" come from Agatsuma Soubi.

This cosplayer captures Ritsuka so perfectly, I did a double take when I saw this! I love the hair and the ears so much! Wonderful job!

Loveless: Sagan Nagisa and Minami Ritsu

The creator of the 2nd Generation Zero Pair, Nagisa has a strange relationship with Soubi's teacher, Ritsu. Although she tries her best to make it look as if she loathes his very existence, she blushes whenever Ritsu is near her, and even more so when he accidentally touches her. Although both have previously denied the affiliation with Nana no Tsuki or Septimal Moon, it is later revealed in the manga they are among the original members of the group.

Cute and daring cosplay! I've been looking for other characters from the series for a while. Ritsu really creeps me out though. Thanks to Harriet for sending this! And he knows Nagisa is cosplayed by Rippie, but does anyone know who the other cosplayer is?

Loveless: Aoyagi Ritsuka 04

Despite being a pacifist that he naturally is, love is an uncomfortable subject for Ritsuka. He is often wary of compliments and doesn’t like affection in any form. Ritsuka is conflicted with believing Agatsuma Soubi’s declarations of love and thus becomes a source of tension in their relationship.

Beautiful cosplay! I think this is from one of Koga Yun’s illustrations for Loveless’ art book. I’m not sure if it actually appeared in the series though. Thanks to Wendy for sending this!

Loveless: Aoyagi Seimei

The mysterious older brother of Aoyagi Ritsuka, Seimei’s personality has a lot of different interpretations canonically. To Soubi, who serves as his fighter, Seimei is kind and gentle; to the members of Nanatsu no tsuki, Beloved was cruel and sadistic. Ritsuka could only remember him as the one who protected him from their abusive mother.

What could Seimei be really like? Since the manga is still on going, there’s no real info about him yet. But there was one thing that was apparently confirmed: Seimei is still alive, and the person who died in his place was only identified by his dental records.

I wasn’t too sure if this was Ritsuka or Seimei, but his hair is long enough to be Seimei’s I think. The cat ears are really cute too, don’t you think?

Pandora Hearts: Gilbert Nightray 02

Gilbert Nightray's protectiveness is said to be compounded by the fact that he was brainwashed by Miranda Barma to protect Jack Vessalius even if it means killing to fulfill his duty. When Gil is drunk, he becomes an insecure crybaby, reminiscent of his 14-year-old self. He has a constant fear that, as Oz grows, he will be left behind.

The character kind of reminds me of Soubi from Loveless. Nonetheless, fantastic cosplay by Martin! I’m loving all the details of this cosplay and the fact that he’s a guy cosplayer! We need more of them around, right?

Martin has also mentioned the this cosplay debuted on the 17th Sept 2011 at Animania Sydney 2011, Australia. Maybe some of our Australian readers have seen him before? Thanks for sharing this with us!

Loveless: Zero - Sagan Natsuo and Sagan Youji

Blunt, cold, and literally without feelings, Sagan Natsuo and Youji are the 2nd Generation Zero Pair of Sagan Nagisa’s experiments. The same with Soubi and Ritsuka, Natsuo, the one with the eye patch is the fighter of the two while Youji is the sacrifice.

It’s quite obvious that Nagisa prefers Youji over Natsuo. Youji explains that it’s because he resembles Nagisa’s younger sister.

This is a pretty popular cosplay picture on the Internet. I hadn’t been able to figure out who they were until recently. Youji kinda looks like a young Youko Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho, doesn’t he?

Loveless: Sagan Youji and Sagan Natsuo 02

Created by an easily angered woman named Sagan Nagisa, Youji and Natsuo are known as the 2nd generation of Zero fighters... that is, a fighting pair that cannot feel any pain. You might think this will give them an advantage when it comes to spell battles, but Soubi was able to prove otherwise.
