Final Fantasy VII: Aerith Gainsborough 03

When faced with the possibility of being captured by the Turks, Aerith Gainsborough asked Cloud Strife to be her bodyguard for the cost of one date. Aerith was eventually apprehended, but she was later rescued by Cloud and his companions. She then decided to join them in their pursuit of Sephiroth, inadvertently embarking on her own journey towards self-discovery.

She’s just absolutely adorable! And a nice choice of accessories for Aerith’s bangles too! I’m not sure if she used her own hair or a wig, but it must have taken a long time to style it just right. Thanks to Emilia for sending this in!

Final Fantasy XIII: Oerba Dia Vanille

19 year-old Oerba Dia Vanille is a l’Cie from the village of Oerba on Gran Pulse who awakened with Oerba Yun Fang thirteen days before the start of the game. She was with the Purgees of Cocoon along with Nora and Hope Estheim during their exile, until she is rescued by Snow Villiers’s group, NORA. However, after Nora dies, she encouraged Hope to follow Snow to the Pulse Vestige in order to confront him and they were branded l’Cie after killing the fal’Cie Anima.

Cute cosplayer and a beautiful location to match! Must have been a long hike to get to that waterfall since there aren’t any tourists around. Thanks to Enzo for sending this in!

Bleach: Kuchiki Byakuya 02

As a noble of the infamous Kuchiki clan, Byakuya may appear cold and regal to most, but he actually cares deeply for his adopted younger sister, Rukia, whom he refers to as his “pride”. He does have a comical side as he not only attends the lieutenants’ meeting when Abarai Renji is absent, but also implies that he attends the meetings of the Soul Reaper Women’s Association when Rukia is absent. Byakuya likes Japanese cherry blossoms, night-time walks, spicy food, and bananas, but he does not like sweets.

Angel Beats!: Yui and Hinata Hideki

Although Hinata Hideki initially found Yui to be very annoying, they actually care deeply about one another. Yui often pesters him about anything she can think of and Hinata would usually ignore or shout back at her. Hinata later finds out that one of Yui’s regrets in her life was that she wasn’t able to get married, and Hinata helped her pass on by promising to marry her even if she was still paralyzed when they are reincarnated.

I find this photo to be so cute, especially knowing the relationship these two had, it’s just perfect. I really do hope they find each other again in their second lives. I only wish I knew who Kousaka Yun was cosplaying with. Thanks again to Lily for sending this in!

House of Flying Daggers: Xiao Mei

When Jin asked Xiao Mei for her name, he wondered why it was so plain when all the other girls were named after flowers. Xiao Mei quietly responded with, and I quote, “I don't want to compete with those others girls. The flowers here can hardly be called flowers. Real flowers bloom in the wilderness.”

I don’t know if you can still call this “cosplay” since it’s from a live-action movie instead of an anime or game, but you have to admit, the entire outfit is very well done, down to the smallest accessories. Thanks to Michelle for sending this in!

Shakugan no Shana: Shana 06

In the first volume of the original light novel, Alastor stated that the reason why Shana did not explode after being shot by Friagne's Trigger Happy was because she held a capacity that existed in dimensional space, who was able to contain the Flame of Heaven's. Shana’s duty initially made her indifferent towards human life, but because of Sakai Yuji's influence, she has become slightly more open. Although she still remains confused and disgruntled by some human traits which she considers to be “pointless”, some of it is actually used to mask her jealousy of her desire to monopolize Yuji.

K-On!: Akiyama Mio 03

Akiyama Mio has excellent grades in school and is mature and strict especially towards her childhood friend, Tainaka Ritsu. However, Mio has a weakness against the macabre and horrific, and she is often incapacitated with fear when stories involving ghosts, blood, injuries, haunted houses, barnacles, or any other disturbing topics that come up. She also has a fear of being in the spotlight and gets embarrassed easily, and is the recurrent subject to teasing from Ritsu as well as their their club adviser, Yamanaka Sawako.

This cosplayer looks familiar, but I’m not certain who she is. I’m guessing she’s Kipi, but with her face partially covered by her hand, I can’t be sure. Thanks to Francesca for sending this in!

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Soryu Asuka Langley 07

Miyamura Yuko, Asuka's Japanese voice actress, noted that “Asuka wasn't the most open-hearted character I've ever met… every time I tried to draw myself in closer synchronization, Asuka would never allow herself to sync with ‘me’… One day, I figured out that there was a wall in Asuka's heart.” as translated by William Flanagan. Much later, she included that working on the series was “very hard” and that at times she had “wanted to erase Evangelion.”

Lamento: Beyond the Void: Rai

A bounty hunter who carries two swords, Rai is a silver-haired cat who wears a patch over his right eye. He is known to have a calm but arrogant personality, and is strict towards both himself and others.

I unfortunately know nothing else about the character aside from that. There’s not much to go on with this series, so I’ll trust Sapphirus’ information for now. I do know that the cosplayer is Stay though! Thanks again to Lily for sending this in!

Loveless: Hawatari Yuiko

One of Ritsuka’s classmates in his new school, Yuiko appeared to be a ditzy girl who had befriended Ritsuka at the prodding of their mean-spirited classmates. Ritsuka first thought of her to be annoying and weird, but they became good friends as the series progressed. Yuiko has been fascinated by Ritsuka since the first day they met, but Ritsuka sees their relationship to be purely platonic.

Eureka Seven: Eureka

The pilot of the Nirvash typeZERO, Eureka treats the Nirvash as if it were a living being with consciousness and feelings. However, she appears to be distant and awkward to other people as she has trouble communicating with humans and understanding their feelings. She is the adoptive mother of Maurice, Maeter, and Linck, but is often unsure of her role as a mother.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Tifa Lockhart 08

Tifa Lockhart has made several appearances in other media, including her own novella “Smile: Case of Tifa”. The story is set in her point of view, telling the events between the end of Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children. In the short novel, she creates a new 7th Heaven bar and attempts to hold onto the concept of a normal family with herself and Cloud Strife as he begins isolating himself from others.

Durarara!!: Orihara Mairu and Orihara Kururi

Twin sisters of Orihara Izaya, Mairu and Kururi are complete opposites of one another. Mairu, the younger twin, is an outgoing, trouble-maker like her brother, while Kururi is shy and soft spoken. Kururi is often bullied because of her sister’s reputation, but both sisters have their ways in responding to threats effectively. The twins are fans of Izaya’s friend, Heiwajima Kasuka.

Gundam Seed Destiny: Meer Campbell 04

A young woman who received plastic surgery so that she would look like Lacus Clyne, Meer Campbell was used by Gilbert Durandal in order to get the citizens on PLANT to support him. She is flirty, excitable, and adores Athrun Zala, although he does not feel the same way. When Athrun defects, he attempts to convince Meer to escape Gibraltar with him, but she refuses as she prefers to live as Lacus Clyne.

Kipi is the cosplayer behind this Meer, though I can't recall Meer wearing a bikini in the series. It's been a while since I've seen it though. Thanks to O' Brian for sending this in!

Created by an easily angered woman named Sagan Nagisa, Youji and Natsuo are known as the 2nd generation of Zero fighters... that is, a fighting pair that cannot feel any pain. You might think this will give them an advantage when it comes to spell battles, but Soubi was able to prove otherwise.

Kin’iro no Corda: Yunoki Azuma 02

A third year student who is considered to be the school "prince", Azuma is well-known for his good looks, perfect grades, and charming personality. He is from a well-brought family of traditional Kado background and is well acquainted with traditional Japanese customs like ikebana, tea ceremonies, and traditional gardening. He is the thrird son of the family and is restricted from outshining his brothers, which forced him to give up the piano when he was young and took up the flute instead.

He kind of reminds me of Kyouya from Ouran because of his background story. I found this from All About COSPLAY, the Otaku University Philippines Cosplay Research. Thanks for sharing this!
