I’m still a fan of this pairing even though we pretty much figured out that Kaname is practically Yuuki’s grandfather! I just feel like Kaname has been tortured enough as it is, why can’t he find the happiness he so desperately desires?

Vampire Knight: Kiryuu Zero 10

Another popular Boys' Style model, ROOT is regularly featured in a fashion magazine known as “Men’s SPIDER” and “KERA”. She is also part of the singing group, Signal, together with Amato and Rei.

ROOT played Zero in the musical adaptation of Vampire Knight. She and Akira were guests in Kawaii International’s 19th episode: Boyish Street-Style Kawaii on NHK.

Since I already knew Akira was a girl, then I already suspected that the one playing Zero would be a girl too, and I was right! I can’t find a lot of information on her, but please head over to her official Facebook page if you like her portrayal of Zero! Thanks again to Erica for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Kuran Kaname 20

Female fashion model AKIRA was born on the 15th of February in Chiba Prefecture. She is a female model who is often mistaken to be a man even among her Japanese fans as she often cross-dresses or wears boys-styled clothing. AKIRA appears regularly in the alternative fashion magazines KERA and KERA BOKU. She is also the leader of the Visual Kei rock band DISACODE as their singer and song-writer.

AKIRA played Kuran Kaname in the musical adaptation of Vampire Knight.

Oh wow, I suspected that AKIRA was a girl, but I didn’t know that she uses her androgynous appearance for work too! Wait, does that even make sense? I just didn’t know that there is a cross-dressing culture in Japan outside of cosplay!

I guess this is also one of the reasons why cosplay is so popular in Japan? Thanks again to Erica for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Yuki Cross 11

Wakatsuki Yumi is a member of Nogizaka46’s 1st Generation. She was born on the 27th of June 1994 in Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan. She was chosen as an ambassador for a Shizuoka Prefecture guidebook program. Yumi later became the lead actress in the Vampire Knight Musical Adaptation staring as Yuki Cross.

Did anyone here get to see this musical? Was it any good? I haven’t seen any news about it since it premiered last January!

Vampire Knight: Shiki Senri 03

Apathetic and a follower by nature, Shiki Senri is described as a quiet “doll” who kept out of trouble in order to keep his mentally ill mother from worrying about him. He became attached to Ichijou Takuma who always encourages Senri to try new things. After being used by his father, Kuran Rido, to hurt the people he cares about, including Touya Rima, Senri began to stand up for himself and gained a bit more self-respect.

Another amazing cosplay by KumaQi! I always thought Shiki was an interesting character from the very beginning. I just wish he had a bigger role in the series. Thanks again to Mai for sending this in!

Wakatsuki Yumi, better known as a member of Japanese female idol group “Nogizaka46” will be playing the lead role as Yuki Cross in the musical adaptation of Hino Matsuri’s Vampire Knight as reported by Crunchyroll. The musical is scheduled to perform at the Hakuhinkan Theater in Tokyo from January 21-25, 2015. Among those listed in the cast are:

Vampire Knight: Kain Akatsuki 02

Laid-back yet highly observant, Kain Akatsuki often gets into trouble thanks to his cousin, Aido, although he is often not directly responsible. He has the ability to conjure and control fire aside from his vampiric abilities. He has been in love with Ruka ever since they were young, but he is also aware of Ruka’s feelings for Kaname, and thus never reveals his true feelings to her. His protectiveness over Ruka is the only thing preventing him from completely devoting himself to Kaname.

What a lovely photo! I’m a little sad the series ended the way it did, but I suppose all good things must eventually come to an end. Thanks to Gina for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Yuki Cross and Kuran Kaname 03

Shortly after Zero’s arrival into the Cross household, Yuki accidentally witnessed Kaname feeding blood off of Ruka. This changed the closeness they once shared as Yuki is reminded of the difference between humans and vampires. Now keenly aware that her feelings for him were futile, Yuki chose to distance herself from Kaname, admiring him only from afar.

I really liked the start of this series, and I wish they had ended up together instead of Zero entering the picture, but I guess I can always satisfy myself with cosplays like these as well as the many fanfics all over the internet. Thanks to Mica for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Touya Rima 04

Although she is considered to be young for a vampire, Touya Rima can be quite sharp and perceptive. She noticed almost immediately that Senri Shiki changed upon his return to Cross Academy, and did not hesitate to confront him, demanding that Shiki should have a little more self-respect and not allow others to use him so easily. Aside from her vampiric traits, Rima also has the ability to control lightning.

She’s so cute! But I wouldn’t want to make her mad. I hear electrocution is a painful way to die. Thanks to Sarah for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Kuran Yuuki and Kuran Kaname

At the end of the first arc, Kaname turned Yuuki into a vampire, revealing her true nature as the pureblood princess of the Kurans. It was said that Yuuki was born as his sister and his future wife. However, it was later explained that Kaname was not Yuuki’s real brother, but her ancestor who was awakened at the cost of her real brother’s life.

Sorry, but I still like this pairing better than Zero x Yuuki, and Rainer and Rieyn both look stunning as the pureblood siblings! I think the ending of the manga was rather tragic and I felt that it was a little rushed somehow! I think I will keep the anime ending in mind instead of the manga. Vampire Knight: Kiryuu Zero 09

Despite being a gifted hunter even at a young age, Zero was turned into a vampire himself, and thus has a difficult time thinking of himself or any vampire as anything but a monster. He is intelligent, athletic and good-hearted, but he struggles his desire for blood and his equally strong desire to kill vampires. This heavy burden has made Zero a very private person, making him difficult to understand or even be close to.

I do like how Zero looks in a Night Class’ uniform, but I remember he almost killed Kaien Cross for simply suggesting it. In any case, thanks to Yukina for sending this in!

Vampire Knight: Aido Hanabusa

Nicknamed “Idol” by the Day Class girls, Aido Hanabusa along with his cousin Kain Akatsuki are known to be “Lord Kaname’s right hand” amongst the Night Class. His fierce loyalty for Kaname borders on jealousy, which is shown in a flashback when he first met Kaname as a child. Aido also has a tendency to overstep his boundaries, which results in humorous, as well as severe punishments from Kaname.

One year after Cross Academy was attacked, Souen Ruka has been seen giving Kuran Yuki etiquette lessons as she continues to serve Kuran Kaname faithfully and protectively. Yuki has witnessed Kaname drinking Ruka’s blood and has come to the conclusion that Ruka may still have feelings for him. Presently, she and Kain Akatsuki have been by Kaname’s side as he continued his rampage on killing purebloods.

After losing her Mistress Hio Shizuka and Kiryuu Ichiru, Kurenai Maria decided to attend the newly reconstructed Night Class of Cross Academy. Once there, she approached Kuran Yuki and asked, out of respect for a pureblooded vampire, to take Kiryuu Zero for herself. Although Maria had spoken to him once on campus, Zero has yet to reveal his decision.

This looks like the cover of the Vampire Knight Official Fanbook, although Yuki and Zero were in their Day Class uniforms there. I’m pretty sure that Kaname is cosplayed by Stay since I featured her as Kaname before, but I don’t know the cosplayers she’s with. Probably good friends of hers right? Vampire Knight: Touya Rima 03

Touya Rima possesses a strong, self-assured personality similar to Shiki Senri. She does not like to expend energy needlessly and is a lady with few words. She is a quick thinker, indifferent, and aloof, but often worries about Shiki and Ichijo Takuma. Despite her apparent lack of interest, she has no qualms about speaking her mind and unexpectedly has a short-tempered side as well.

Vampire Knight: Yuki Cross and Kuran Kaname 02

With the knowledge of her childhood friend, Kiryuu Zero becoming a vampire, Yuki Cross decided that she would allow him to drink her blood in order to keep him from falling into a Level E. Little did she know that the very same night, she would run into Kuran Kaname, the vampire who saved her when she was only 5-years-old. Although Yuki tried to hide Zero’s fang marks, it was later revealed by Kaname’s conversation with Yagari Toga that Kaname did know what had happened, but he did not push Yuki to tell him so because he was afraid that he would lose her.
