Sailor Stars: Sailor Star Healer

Although Yaten Kou is lonely at times, she does not like to socialize with humans as she believes they are untrustworthy. She prefers to focus on the mission to find Princess Kakyuu and leave the Earth as soon as possible. Perhaps it is because of this that she is blunt and sharp-tongued, even antagonizing Kaioh Michiru for her choice of lipstick.

Sailor Stars: Sailor Galaxia, Princess Kakyuu, and the Sailor Starlights

Sailor Galaxia was once known as the legendary Sailor Senshi in the Milky Way galaxy. She sealed Chaos within her own body in order to save the cosmos. However, as Chaos continued to grow in strength, Sailor Galaxia knew such power could put the entire universe at risk, and thus expelled her star seed into the rural galaxy of the Milky Way.

Once overtaken by Chaos, Sailor Galaxia now sought to take all of the star seeds in the universe in order to control it for herself in the name of “Star Galaxia”. Princess Kakyuu of Kinmoku fled to Earth along with the Sailor Starlights in search of the Light of Hope, which was later revealed to be Chibi Chibi.

The story from the manga and anime about Chibi Chibi is completely different! It makes me wonder if they will continue to follow the manga in the new Sailor Moon Crystal, because if they do, then we will see Sailor Cosmos but lose Sailor Galaxia.

Sailor Stars: Seiya Kou

The leader of the Sailor Starlights, Seiya Kou is the lead vocalist of the pop star group, the Three Lights. Seiya tends to act arrogantly and appears to be confident in her own abilities. When she enters a local high school, Seiya becomes the school’s star athlete in American football, upsetting Tenoh Haruka as she was the previous star (in track and field). She developed feelings for Usagi, but eventually regarded them to be unrequited love.

Sailor Stars: Eternal Sailor Chibichibi

When she first appeared in the series, Chibichibi appears to be about two years old, and cannot really talk yet. She usually imitates others, but mostly says “chibi”. Her names has two meanings, literally “small person” or “small child”, and as a pun meaning “making something last”.

She eventually transforms, under her own power, into a Sailor Soldier, Sailor Chibichibi. Although she does not to appear to have any attacks of her own, she does increase Sailor Moon’s power.

Oh wow, doesn’t Mikuro Nekomi make the perfect Chibichibi? I’m actually surprised to find cosplays of this character, so I had to feature it asap! Thanks again to Sophia for suggesting this!

Sailor Stars: Eternal Sailor Neptune

Even in her civilian form, Kaioh Michiru is known to have precognitive gifts, as she occasionally states that “the sea is stormy” whenever there is an evil presence at work. In the manga version, she has a special hand mirror which supplements her precognition. It is later revealed to be the Deep Aqua Mirror, one of the three powerful talismans carried by the Outer Senshi.

Another beautiful Sailor Neptune! I’m glad the anime is getting a remake, but I do hope it won’t get pushed back too much. I’d love to see an anime of Sailor Moon that is loyal to the manga. Thanks to Karen for sending this in!

Sailor Stars: Eternal Sailor Uranus

Good-natured and masculine-acting, Teno Haruka is Sailor Uranus, the Soldier of the Sky and Fury. Before becoming a Sailor Senshi, she dreamt of becoming a racer and has excellent driving skills. When it comes to fighting enemies, she distrusts outside help and prefers to work with Sailor Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn. Her weapon of choice is a blade known as the Space Sword.

Beautiful cosplay! I think she is one of my top 3 favorite senshi in the series. First found on Kinomiya Michiru’s Tumblr!

Sailor Stars: Princess Kakyuu

The princess of Kinmoku who escaped to earth when Sailor Galaxia attacked, Princess Kakyuu is said to smell of sweet osmanthus, which is the recurring motif of her design. There are different versions with regards to her storyline in the anime and manga, but she is similar to Sailor Moon as she also has her own senshi, the Sailor Starlights.

The cosplayer looks like a doll in this photo. I’m guessing proper make-up and lighting gave that effect. Beautiful work!

Sailor Stars: Sailor Cosmos

A character that only appeared in the manga, Sailor Cosmos is said to be the ultimate form of Sailor Moon. She comes from the future as an infant named “Chibi-Chibi” to encourage Usagi to defeat Chaos in the final battle. She initially wanted to destroy the Galaxy Cauldron altogether, but Sailor Moon protests when she realized no stars will be born if the Cauldron is destroyed. Sailor Moon’s sacrifice reminded her of the strength and courage she needed, returning to the future with renewed hope.

Beautiful cosplay! I always thought she was far more beautiful than Sailor Moon. Then again, she and Sailor Moon may be one and the same. What do you guys think?

Sailor Stars: Tsukino Usagi

Remember what I said about this blog not being biased about Western Cosplay? Well, here’s proof to back that up.

This is probably one of the best Sailor Moon Cosplays I have ever come across. She’s just really pretty and she’s got the costume right (instead of the usual knock offs)! I love the way she did her hair, it’s really gorgeous.

This picture is credited to Cosplaylab.com. I was able to find this thanks to Maya, who replied to Morbid Optimism defending the Americans against his topic “Americans Shouldn’t Cosplay“. Morbid Optimism posted some really nice Japanese Cosplay pictures, you should check it out. I’ll be posting some of those pictures here too (as well as the not so nice American ones), and give him full credit for finding them first of course… ^_^

Oh~ I’d also like to mention that Megamisan sent me Adella’s Gallery for some nice cosplay photos of Adella. We have the same taste in cosplay! ^_^
