Vocaloid 2: Kagamine Len 09

Alongside Miku, the Kagamines are set to make an appearance at the Los Angeles concert for their US debut. There is a rumor that says Crypton Future Media has decided to sell them as “twins” to the American audience, unlike in Japan where their relationship has never been defined.

Yukino’s friend Dee is the cosplayer behind this Kagamine Len. I’m not sure why but her awkward smile looks so in character to me. Thanks again to Yukino for sharing this!

Sailor Stars: Eternal Sailor Uranus

Good-natured and masculine-acting, Teno Haruka is Sailor Uranus, the Soldier of the Sky and Fury. Before becoming a Sailor Senshi, she dreamt of becoming a racer and has excellent driving skills. When it comes to fighting enemies, she distrusts outside help and prefers to work with Sailor Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn. Her weapon of choice is a blade known as the Space Sword.

Beautiful cosplay! I think she is one of my top 3 favorite senshi in the series. First found on Kinomiya Michiru’s Tumblr!

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: Tomoe Mami and Kaname Madoka

Tomoe Mami and Kaname Madoka are the only Puella Magi known to have no marks on any of their fingernails. Akemi Homura, Sakura Kyoko, and Miki Sayaka all have marks on their left middle fingers which match the emblem of their respective Soul Gems. Although it would appear strange, it was clarified to be no more than a production error as Homura, Kyoko, and Sayaka do not bear these marks on every single one of their shots in the anime.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt: Stocking Anarchy and Panty Anarchy

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt was animated by Gainax in a distinct style resembling and homaging American cartoons. The theme of the series is “vulgar and indecent jokes” with director Imaishi Hiroyuki saying “If we are going to do this, we will try it thoroughly”. Wakabayashi Hiromi, who provided the initial idea for the series, cited “Drawn Together” as an inspiration for the show’s crudeness.

I thought the style looked strange for an anime, but I guess with Gainax, when they pay an homage to something, they really go all out. Thanks again to Stilzkin for sending this!

Yu Yu Hakusho: Chu

The strongest fighter and leader of Team Rokuyukai, Chu specializes in the “Drunken Fist” which fuses the alcohol he drinks with his aura. During the fight for the control of Makai, Chu is one of the demons that Kurama trained to fight for Yomi, but they eventually disbanded to fight individually in the tournament. At the end of the anime, he begins training and falls in love with Natsume, the female demon who defeated him in the Makai tournament.

I can’t believe someone cosplayed this character! I’m so impressed and happy that it’s so accurate! First found on Yu Yu Hakusho FTW!

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Rei 10

In “The End of Evangelion”, the third Ayanami Rei acted as the main catalyst behind Third Impact, an event that was initiated after she fused with Lilith. A shining figure of Rei was shown looking down on Katsuragi Misato and Akagi Ritsuko moments before they died. These spectral images also appeared over the corpses of the slain Nerv personnel.

Our 10th Rei is cosplayed by Vaya who wrote to me saying that she is only starting out as a cosplayer. With photos like this though, I’m sure she’s going to be getting a lot of fans really fast! Thanks again for allowing me to post this!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a bag of MSG (Monosodium Glutamate)?

Then again, I suppose that could be salt or sugar as well, but please don’t tell me there are anime mascots for food additives now too?

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Tifa Lockhart 09

When Final Fantasy VII Advent Children was being developed, director Takeshi Nozue had some difficulty in developing a framework for Tifa’s body that needed to be “balanced, yet showed off her feminine qualities”. Her outfit was also redesigned to emphasize on expressing those qualities while being pleasing to the eye. Lastly, Tifa’s hairstyle was cut short due to the difficulty of animating her dolphin tail tipped hair, as well as problems that arose due to its black color and lighting.

Bleach: Ulquiorra Schiffer 04

WARNING: This article contains spoilers, please read at your own risk!

Ulquiorra Schiffer kidnapped Inoue Orihime for Aizen Sosuke, serving as her jailer and forcing her to remain alive for Aizen’s use. During his first battle with Kurosaki Ichigo in Hueco Mundo, Ulquiorra easily withstood and defeated his hollow form. However, after Ulquiorra’s imprisonment in Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez’s Caja de Negacion, their battle ended with his defeat and eminent death.

Yu-Gi-Oh!: Thief King Bakura

Thief King Bakura was the sole survivor of the village of Kul Elna which was slaughtered by Ahkenaden as part of the ritual to forge the Millennium Items. Seeking revenge on the one who ordered the attack, the son of the pharaoh, Bakura stole the Millennium Ring from Priest Mahado, and was consumed by a portion of Zorc Necrophades’ soul, which was sealed in the Ring at the moment of its creation. Bakura was able to successfully steal all of the Millennium Items with Ahkenaden’s help and resurrect Zorc.

Impressive cosplay! I ‘m a huge fan of Bakura’s and I’m so happy someone decided to cosplay his Thief King version! I don’t remember which season in the anime he appeared in though. Thanks again to Cherokee for sending this in!

A mysterious 22-year-old woman with a charming face and a “well-proportioned” body, Catherine has a “Gyaru” air about her which caught Vincent Brooks’ attention. Her carefree behavior began to disturb Vincent’s life as it was after meeting Catherine that Vincent began having nightmares.

Beautiful cosplay by renowned cosplayer, Omi Gibson! I have to admit though, this game is kinda creepy and I don’t think I want to play it. Thanks to Al for suggesting this!
