The pilot with an enigmatic personality, Mari is the only one among the Eva pilots who genuinely enjoys piloting. Her repeated comments suggest that she has a liking to the smell of LCL, an amber-colored, translucent liquid that allows the pilot to mentally link with their Evangelion Unit. It is implied that Mari works for an unknown third party, and a pilot designation has not been provided, assuming Mari actually has one.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi: Suzumiya Haruhi 08

Suzumiya Haruhi appears to enjoy being the center of attention as her club activities are often the result of her desire to increase the SOS Brigade’s notoriety. She believes things that are out of the ordinary to be automatically fun and has very little regard for what constitutes as normal behavior. Once, she even changed clothes in her class while surrounded by her classmates.

This is actually one character that I really can’t understand. Even after watching the series, Haruhi is still something of an enigma to me. In any case, a beautiful cosplay by Mary Albert Balbacal! Be sure to check out her Facebook Page for more of her cosplays!

Card Captor Sakura: Tsukishiro Yukito, Kinomoto Sakura, and Kinomoto Toya

Tsukishiro Yukito is the close friend of Sakura’s older brother, Kinomoto Toya, and the human alter-ego of the Clow Card guardian, Yue. He is kind and gentle, and at the start of the series, Sakura has a crush on him, mainly because of Yukito’s resemblance to her father.

Toya, on the other hand, teases Sakura frequently, but he does care a great deal for her and works hard to protect her. He is fully aware that his sister is a Card Captor, and thus takes on several part-time jobs that places him nearby when she is working on capturing a card.

Although I know Syaoran is Sakura’s true love, I still wish Toya didn’t ruin her date with Yukito in this photo. Amazing cosplay once again by Hagaren and Mao Mao (猫猫)! Beautiful setting too! Thanks again to Genevieve for sending this!

The race of Elves worship Eva, the Goddess of Water and are known for their love of nature and aquatic life. The Elves have been described to have slim and nimble bodies, long ears, and beautiful features. They held the most power during the era of the Giants, but when the Giants were destroyed, the power and influence of the Elves were also diminished. They now inhabit only a part of the forest in Aden.

Naruto: Mitarashi Anko 02

Mitarashi Anko is described to be easygoing, tomboyish, playful, stubborn, short-tempered, and sometimes hyperactive, which makes her very similar to Uzumaki Naruto in many ways. However, she has shown to be a very knowledgeable and studious proctor of the second chunin exams.

Anko also has a bloodthirsty side, as shown when she scratched Naruto’s face with a kunai, and licked away his blood. This scene was changed in the anime, as she merely used her finger to wipe it off.

Beautiful cosplay! Although I’ve seen some sites label this to be Uchiha Sasuke rather than Anko. What do you guys think? Thanks again to Sammy for sending this in!

Strike Witches: Charlotte E. Yeager

I was going to get myself ready for the barrage of unknown cosplays for the latest Comiket when I found this.

This was in an email from way back in 2011. She’s from Comiket 79, but with only those bunny ears and jacket logo, I have no idea where she’s from. I would have said Asahina Mikuru from The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, but I’m pretty sure Nagato Yuki is the white rabbit and Mikuru is the red one.

Anyone have a better idea? Thanks to 4chanatic for sharing his huge collection of cosplay photos!

The second of four films released in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance is the winner of the French Lyon Asian Film Festival’s Animation category, narrowly beating “Symphony in August” in an audience vote back in 2009. The film also won Excellent Animation of the Year from the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year in 2010. Stills and draft materials by Anno Hideaki were exhibited at Künstlerhaus Bethanien as part of the Proto Anime Cut exhibition from January to March 2011, with a European tour planned in summer 2012.

Ok, so this group changed Ikari Shinji and Nagisa Kaworu into girls, but hey, is anyone really complaining? And for those of you who want to see more of these cosplayers, please refer to the video below. Thanks to Felicia for sending this in!

Guilty Crown: Yuzuriha Inori 04

As a vessel of the patient zero of the Apocalypse Virus “Mana”, Yuzuriha Inori’s blood has the ability to delay the symptoms of those infected by the virus. Her body can be also used to communicate with Mana by unknown means, speculated to be telepathy.

After Mana’s consciousness was transferred to Inori, Inori started to display some of Mana’s violent instincts, as shown when she attacked Arisa, producing a crystal spike in order to stab her. As time went on, Inori started to display more of Mana’s abilities due to her constant contact with Voids containing pieces of Mana.

Bakuman: Mashiro Moritaka and Takagi Akito

When junior high school student Mashiro Moritaka forgot his notebook in class, fellow classmate Takagi Akita saw Mashiro’s drawings in it and instantly asked him to become the manga artist to his stories. However, Mashiro declined his offer as his late uncle, a manga artist, died from overwork.

Takagi then incited Mashiro to meet with Azuki Miho, Mashiro’s crush, and told her that they planned to become manga artists. Azuki revealed that she wanted to become a voice actress and thus Mashiro proposed to her that they should both marry when Azuki became a voice actress for the anime adaptation of their manga.

Mashiro and Takagi then started creating their manga under the pen name Ashirogi Muto, in hopes of getting serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump.

Kuroko no Basuke: Kuroko Tetsuya 02

The sixth man and the “phantom” member of the “Generation of Miracles”, Kuroko was an essential member of his middle school basketball team. However, unlike his former teammates, Kuroko is fairly unknown, mainly because he is small and frail, making him very easy to miss. These characteristics work to his advantage as Kuroko possesses the skill of misdirection, allowing him to steal the ball and shift the trajectories of passes to suit his team without being noticed by their opponents.

Claymore: Clare 02

Clare’s awakened limbs were first seen in the Northern Campaign, during the battle of Rigardo, which allowed her to move at lightning speed. Jean managed to bring Clare back to normal, however, at the unfortunate cost of her own life. Clare’s second attempt to awaken also failed when she battled against Priscilla because of Jean’s psychological “block”.
