Magic Knight Rayearth: Ryuuzaki Umi, Shidou Hikaru, and Hououji Fuu

When Shidou Hikaru, Ryuuzaki Umi, and Hououji Fuu went on a field trip to the Tokyo Tower with their respective schools, the girls never would have guessed what amazing adventure awaited them that fateful day. The three girls were blinded by a flash of light where they heard a voice calling for the Legendary Magic Knights to save Cephiro. They fall through the sky into another world, a magical world where the power of your will determines the efficiency of one’s magic.

Magic Knight Rayearth: Guru Clef

The chief of all sorcerers in Cephiro and formerly Princess Emeraude's attendant, Guru Clef acted as a guide for Shidou Hikaru, Ryuuzaki Umi, and Hououji Fuu into becoming the Legendary Magic Knights. After Princess Emeraude died, he and all the other magicians of Cephiro used their willpower to create a castle to hold all the inhabitants of Cephiro. He became the leader of his people temporarily until a new Pillar could be found. Although thoughtful and mysterious, Guru Clef is kind-hearted, good-natured, and selfless.

Magic Knight Rayearth: Ryuuzaki Umi

The Magic Knight of Water, Ryuuzaki Umi is an only child who is quick-tempered and reluctant on fulfilling her role as one of the three Magic Knights of Cephiro.

During her journey to becoming a Magic Knight, she often wished to return home because of a fencing tournament she is participating in. It is this desire that prevented her from becoming a true Magic Knight, but she overcomes it eventually and revives her rune god before Hikaru or Fuu.

Beautiful cosplay! I believe she’s using her natural hair or some hair extensions, but I like this cosplay a lot even without the blue hair. Great work!

Magic Knight Rayearth: Nova

The adopted daughter of Debonair, Nova is an unstable girl who often switches from affections to death threats in the blink of an eye. It is later revealed that she is actually a shadow of Shidou Hikaru’s heart, being her alternate ego; opposite in every way. As much as Hikaru is willing to die for her loved ones, Nova wishes to kill them all. Similarly, Hikaru hates herself for what she has done in Cephiro, making Nova love her very much.

Nova is an anime-only villainess created, not by CLAMP, but by Hirano Toshihiro. Her character design was made for a different anime which was never realized or produced.

I miss Magic Knight Rayearth. I hope there’s still a DVD of this somewhere. I never did get to see the ending of the 2nd season.

Magic Knight Rayearth: Zagato

Having missed the GX-Con, I went about looking for my own stash of photos from previous conventions.

Back in 2005, I went to the Games and Gadgets Convention also known as the G2Con expecting to find the latest… well… Games and Gadgets! Too bad for me, there was hardly anything in that convention that I haven’t already seen i the local market place. Why do they name it a Games and Gadgets Convention when the main event was cosplay; I have no idea.

Anyway, it wasn’t a total lost, since there were some pretty impressive cosplayers at the even! This is a picture of one of the semi-finalists. I love the effect the smoke screen added to this picture! It fits Zagato really well!

I miss the days when I was able to go to conventions and snap photos on my own… Perhaps it’s time to go to another event!
